Do you want England to win the World Cup?

Wed Jun 17, 2026 7:12 pm

England about to start their World Cup campaign and I think they have a chance.

Do you want them to win it?

Personally I say yes, because I have a lot of friends here and it'd make people positive for a while.

Plus we won't have to hear people mention 1966 anymore.

Argentina a good shout. My bet was France with Kane as top scorer, Messi's hattrick didn't help that

I said no as "I don't care either way" wasn't an option. It also depends who they would play in the final.

We’d have to hear about 2026 instead even more intensely

No issues here; I have English and Scandinavian heritage and my maternal grandfather played in the English Football League

If only we could separate that element of ‘entitled’ support from the rest, eh? :ayatollah:

Yep, and it’s embarrassing to see/hear/watch!

I’ve just decided I’m supporting Germany, as their supporters are much better! :laughing6: :ayatollah:

Absolutely not. Can not understand any Welshman wanting them to win.

A definite NO from me.

They're still going on and on about 1966 can you imagine how much they'd go on about 2026 during ever tournament if they won it.

No. Football rivalry reasons. Without rivals, what's the point. Id enjoy watching them get hammered every single game.

I've gone for Argentina but don't have any issues with them winning it if they prove to be the best team.

100% NO

I’d love Portugal to do well as it’s my second home.

After watching them last night in a Portuguese bar I’m not holding my breath!

Doubling down on no.

It’s already unbearable after one game.

Absolutely not

Could you imagine how unbearable all the away fans will be next season (not including the jacks or the Welsh scouser, but they will be unbearable for different reasons)

Definitely a no from me

Re: Do you want England to win the World Cup?

100% no.
The team did well against a very ordinary Croatia and I think they’ll reach the quarter finals and that’s it.
Hate the smug pundits and ‘it’s coming home’ thing and of course it means some banter for opposition fans next season. :bluescarf:

Not only that but in every game next season the opposition fans will be singing

"World Cup winners,
You'll never sing that!"

Lets be honest, they coyld sing that now.

Ive mellowed over the years and now couldn't care less.

Lets remember who we would represent if Cardiff ever qualified for Europe.
