When are the players back?

Some of the staff were back in this week and the first friendly is in four weeks, so in the next week or two I'd assume.

Cardiff City have not publicly confirmed the exact date that the first-team squad report back for pre-season training in 2026.

However, the club has announced that their first pre-season friendly is at home to FC Midtjylland on 11 July 2026, followed by a week-long training camp in Cork, including a match against Cork City FC on 14 July 2026.

Based on the normal schedule used by EFL clubs, players typically return 3–4 weeks before the first friendly, which would suggest Cardiff’s squad are likely due back in mid-to-late June 2026 for fitness testing and the start of pre-season work.
