Because his attacker told the police he racially abused him. The police dragged Henry from Infront of the car and sat him up. Poor Henry said he'd been stabbed and the police officer said "I don't think so" and preceded to handcuff Henry as he said "I can't breathe" twice. As the police officer was reading Henry is rights, he lost consciousness and died.

I am routinely in favour of the police. I accept it’s a tough job. But as the footage and reporting is showing. They were grossly negligent. Heartless and complacent. Mine is that the individual Officer was unprofessional and blame that on proper control and leadership from his superiors and successive Governments

The police officers on the street on the whole have a tough job, as ultimately they are simply the ‘worker ants’ doing the bidding of those above them in the chain, with no real back up or support when it goes wrong
