Every Site I look at Predicts Cardiff to be Relegated/ BUT

Postby Forever Blue » Tue May 26, 2026 3:07 pm

BUT because we have a good manager in BBM, I personally predict about 10th in the Championship next season as it would be unbelievable to make the play offs with such a low budget.

Where do you believe we will end up May 2027 ?

How many New Quality players do we need?

These sites probably had Leicester to bounce straight back up last season and Luton the season before. How they get these odds without waiting to see who teams sell and sign is beyond me.

Far too early to tell. I’d rather have a guess when we have signed some players up.

It's a strange one Annis as I can see realistically 6 or 7 sides that with good additions, we can aim to finish above.

Charlton
QPR
Lincoln
Bolton
Pompey...
With one or two more strugglers languishing in the bottom half.

I think we can all look at this division and appreciate we are in with some big clubs. However, that should not make us worried but instead motivate us to really take on some of these teams and give as good as we get.

A strong CB, a full-back perhaps to replace Bagan (I know I'll get hammered for this but he is not the best defensively in my opinion), a strong leader in CM, a winger with an end product/bit of X-Factor and a striker to push Salech will mean we don't have any weak areas. I don't expect us to get all of these, but the more we can the better.

We can all enjoy the build-up now.aa signings come in, enjoy the WC and look forward to giving it a good go this year.

I'd say realistically we will finish 12th-15th. That will do me.

Strange that the two clubs promoted automatically with games to spare are favourites to go down but Bolton are not

Why on earth would they think Bolton will finish above both us and Lincoln when they finished so far behind both of us this season?

Chip paper until the transfer windows are closed. As it stands, it's about right, isn't it? We need improvements.

Bolton spent more than us last season, so i guess that's what the bookies have calculated.

I think Tan will back him. I am waiting for the top 8 & 10 odds to come out. I am only a fiver and tenner merchant but it adds to the fun

Yes, we need a starting 6, CB, LW, RB, and proper compiion for Bagan and Salech

So 6 addition IMO

So they have the 3 coming up as going down or struggling (Bolton) while they have the relegated sides in the top 3 positions. Yeah okay, total waste of time until signings are made or not made. I would be happy with anywhere mid table or above with top 8 not being out of the question with a couple of good (to BBM) signings.
Support the team, not the regime.

Anything from 16th/17th upwards I'll be happy with.

Not going to set expectations high, because that just sets us up for disappointment.

I think we will be good under BBM and his way of playing, strengthen on the wings and I think we will be good.8th position would be good, ready for the following season.

This is it also for me also.

Although I’d hope for a lower mid table finish as we stand now.

Not knowing any investment or who’s coming in or going out it’s pretty impossible to make a decent guess.

Mad to make those predictions before they have seen signings etc isn’t it?

Millwall for example. If they lose their star players maybe would finish 10th but they would also have 50 million to spend which they are known to spend well.

So many variables.

Ìts nonsense mate how can anybody possibly predict any teams position before the transfer window even opens Ì won’t even entertain even looking at drivel like this as most sides will look completely different come end of the window
Also we need 6 quality signings

Sunderland were not high on anyone's predictions with a young squad from league 1 to the prem sadly we cannot match wrexham' s investment which is sad to start with without been dubbed relegation material,
Its all b.llox until the season gets underway but we will have an idea just before the season starts as to what plans the 3 amigos have come up with.

I agree it's well early for guess work as to what the owners are planning,
like i said, a week before the season starts should tell most fans what they needed to know.

Agreed, I think Lincoln may stay up with us, Bolton to go down unless there are big changes there, other than that, really hard to predict. It looks like a tough league with Southampton, West Ham, Wolves, Burnley and probably Wrexham spending in the tens of millions again.

We need to strengthen. Simple as that.
We were fortunate in so many games last season (Port Vale, Luton to name but 2) to get something from the game and not get beaten. The lack of quality of finishing in League 1 definitely saved us, especially when we were able to bring on subs like Willock who could put it away when we were playing the sideways/backwards shit.

We won’t have that luxury in the Championship. Make a mistake and you’ll get punished.
If Vinny does dig into his pockets and BBM can secure another Kellyman (or 2) then we have a chance of surprising a few.

Agree but still don't think we will go down - the plan is in place from this season on how we go about moving forward .

I think we’ll do pretty well and finish in the top 6, but if we don’t I won’t be too disappointed either as it usually means there were 6 teams ahead of you who deserved to be top 6

Probably because they seen as a bigger club than us, no other reason I guess. It’s way to early to predict what happens, what players do we get and the biggest question mark for me is how will Murphy fair in the championship, it’s going to be a lot different from last season being the big boys with the best squad and facilities to being on an even footing with the others teams. Hoping he embraces it and I see no reason he can’t continue to excel, and do a great job there. But we are in known tricky waters with an inexperienced manager.

When we played higher league teams last season we performed well ( Burnley, Wrexham, Chelsea ) - so we should not be overawed playing the likes of Blackburn, Charlton, Watford etc. I am quietly confident.

Championship is a tough division.

You’ll have up to 10 big money teams in it, with 2 or 3 solid strong medium range teams, that may mean we may be competing against 10 other clubs in the bottom half.

If we don’t strengthen we are in for a tough season, a couple of injuries and we are bare bones then too.
We rarely keep a clean sheet, so that needs to be resolved.

Some pace and some finishing now required as we need to improve conversion rates from chances or final pass issues. So wingers or wing backs would be good and a tough cdm.
