Alex Robertson No 6

Do we think BBM as Alex penciled in for this position? At beginning of season BBM said he thought AR as more of a 6 than anything else, maybe that's what he's thinking for next season with Mafico understudy depending on how pre season goes. Be interesting where aussies use him if he gets gane time.

Robertson as the 8 is what makes us tick his movement through the lines is exceptional , I feel hes wasted as a 6 and when he did play that roll away at Plymouth we got over run so its a no for me, hes way to effective at number 8 to move him elsewhere

I agree by the way, but BBM said this when AR was coming back from injury, and was based on thier time at Man City i believe

Yea i heard him mention AR in the 6 I just hope hes realized how much better he is at number 8 and goes out and brings in a big physical number 6

I think he would have been used more in that position by now if it was going to happen.

Could be wrong but I think BBM meant Robertson had been used as more of a ten before this season and he didn't see him as that.

I think he was used as a six at Man City but as we've seen this season, he is clearly best as an eight.

I can not believe this is the plan; he is nowhere near defensive-minded enough.

In his defence, whenever he played there, Turnbull was playing and not Wintle. I still think the Wintle decision is madness, but he must have a better plan than Robertson.

After AR got his fitness back, he and Rubin kinda knew when to sit or go. Rubins needs to wander to get on the ball, then Alex would drift into space. They are a great partnership. But they need a defensive sitter.

its a hell of a step up for Mafico, but who knows with BBM, and i liked what i saw from King the last few games of the relegation season, he looked a unit who could play centre half but with skills.

IMO Robertson is a 8 in old money and the top of the pivot in new.

If he is happy with that core, we need to massively upgrade the wings
