Bluebirds I'm gutted to be writing this post, but unfortunately the time has come for me to say goodbye to Cardiff City, a
decision that was completely out of my control.

I've loved my five years at the club and have been lucky enough to meet and work with some truly terrific people
along the way. I just want to say a massive thank you to my teammates, coaches,and especially the fans for their Support.

Crazy in my opinion.

I would have given him a new contract but BBM obviously thinks he can get better, I'll trust his judgement.

The most disappointing thing about this is we had just got a banger of a chant sorted for him

Seems a bit harsh that. Especially considering he was player of the season.
Surely he's able to do a job for us in the championship

Can only assume that he wasn't guaranteed game time.

You don't get rid of your player of the year if he is useful as a squad player in a higher league.

After the season he had i would have liked for him to at least play back up if BBM had a replacement, need two holding midfielders to come through now IMO

He was great for us this season but when we were championship before he wasn’t good enough for us then ( but we had shit management/team then),but thought he might have improved coming season in championship under BBM . I’d have kept him personally. Good luck to him

I would have def kept him for one more year.

This will be out of BBM’s Control.

His wages were high before we got relegated and BBM has a small budget.

We may have hit a contract barrier or seek a transfer fee to bring in a younger option ready for our promotion.

We have to remember we were in Div 1 and these lads were in the relegated Championship side??

I trust bbm to get in an adequate replacement as let's be honest in 2 of the games wintle didnt play Plymouth and mansfield away we got ripped apart in midfield and shipped 10 goals

Wints joined the Bluebirds during June 2021. He went on to make 163 appearances for City, scoring six times.

He leaves Cardiff City Stadium with our very best wishes for the future.

Slightly concerning. The right age has excelled in this system. He has gears and often saved the back 4, covering for them.

Wow...very strange decision for a player that has just won player of the year and players player of the year. A regular starter under BBM as well.

Granted we have a few players that can play the 6 role but none are particularly great at it. Even if a replacement is incoming, we still need cover...now we need 2x 6's.

Very weird. However, must admit there is part of me that strangely likes the ruthlessness of this so in BBM we trust.

All the best Wintle, great pro and seems like a great bloke too. Certainly went out in style!!!

its been said that bbm cannot let his judge.rnt be influenced by sentiment. wintle did a great job last year but i do feel we need better invthe championship. get a quality teplacement and keep mafico as back up andxsquad rotation.

Savage is good but better than wintle not yet imo but Jordan james is.
