With the Welsh Senedd election coming soon, it’s all looking tight at the top and increasingly likely that Welsh Labour will be ousted from power for the first time
There appears to good support for Plaid Cymru and Reform, although the former are joining in with Welsh Labour in a concerted effort to discredit Reform, which (to me) shows they are genuinely worried about their respective positions
I’m still not 100% where my votes will go, other than they 100% won’t go to Welsh Labour, but I am curious as to who you all think your
main vote will go to
Vote for one option as your preferred party or not in the poll above

I obviously don't get a vote.
But if I did, I'd honestly have no idea.
I'm a Labour member but can't vote for the party right now, other than in a GE out of blind loyalty.
Wouldn't vote for Plaid. Wouldn't go near Reform.
Greens are as bad as Reform but on the other side.
Whoever wins, and it won't be Labour this time, will win because they're the least worst.

Labour without question for me.
Reform would be a disaster - too extreme and all talk
Green would be a disaster - too extreme and all talk
Labour - the solid middle ground

Plaid will be in control of Wales this time around, but my vote goes to reform i am not happy with plaid making wales a country of sanctuary.
Sun Apr 26, 2026 9:39 pm
How could you possibly vote for more of the same misery from Labour?
Wales needs change and Reform are the only party who can do that.

Labour full of Fabians and they tried to cancel a lot of these elections.. they're not for me I'm afraid, 27 years and Wales are the poor relations of the UK

Reform for me and for two reasons
1they are the only party to knock my door to ask me about my concerns in the last thirty years.
2 labour my have increased the pension this year but i have found out that my small private pension is being taxed because it lifts me above the thresh hold to the extent that iam receiving less than last year so starmer can do one and i qas a labour supprter forfifty years

There are many reasons not to vote for Labour/Plaid Cymru!
Reform do appear to be out knocking doors more.
Labour are not the Party they were, that's for sure!

Restore Britain is the one i want but its too early for them
Mon Apr 27, 2026 7:36 am
Unable to cast my vote on the forum?? but if it let me I'm voting for plaid cymru!!
Mon Apr 27, 2026 7:43 am
No more labour or the Welsh nationalist. Greens are a joke and now most of the toxic tory shysters have joined Reform the conservatives look best of a v bad bunch
Mon Apr 27, 2026 8:16 am
I’ll vote Reform because this country needs massive change, however we’ll inevitably get a plaid/Labour government. So same shite as the last 27 years, but in Welsh. Honestly I’d shut the Seneyd down and convert the building to a “Spoons”
We need a huge cut to the benefits bill, we need a cull of public sector/civil service jobs, we need a sensible, structured immigration policy and we should deport every single migrant who enters this country illegally.

Let's face it they all chat bogus anyway, same as any political party anywhere in the world. They say what you want to hear, then who ever gets in does whatever they want and f**k us some way or another
Mon Apr 27, 2026 8:59 am
Think I’ll be voting Plaid, but as others have said it’s the best of a bad bunch.
Labour are non existent and seem to not do anything, where my vote used to lie.
Reform plan to cause disruption to my family life and many friends and family’s life, and the general fact they’re pushing the same rubbish the brexit campaign boasted tells me 99% of it is lies and the other 1% won’t happen

Reform for me.

You forgot to list "Restore" party led by Rupert Lowe. He's the best option, like reform but better. I urge you all to join him, £20 membership

That's my pick too
I was for Reform but I don't trust Nigel and they seem to be taking all the failed MPs from conservative
If people want real change we have to start a fresh government
I feel Reform are just the new tories in disguise

They are an option, just not on this board, which was my point. Unless you have no life outside this board

I'll tell him. Restore UK do NOT have a Welsh candidate representing the party and are not partaking in these local elections. You cannot vote for Restore here. That might change come the next general election.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cql7wn1k0kgo Worth a read at the bare minimum. The liklihood of any of these delivering or more importantly, being held accountable for failing to deliver is low.
Its a constant feedback loop of "they are rubbish, we'll do this".... they dont. Repeat.

Just got a leaflet from Plaid. Promising £30k of children care, for all Welsh kids aged 9 months to 4 years. So where’s the 4 billion per annum coming from?
What disruption will Reform cause your family life?
