TROTT ,STAYS OR GOES ?

Sun Apr 26, 2026 7:48 am

Has he enjoyed it here as much as he says he did,or was he just been courteous, I would be happy if he stayed, but peeded off ,if he is in the championship next season with another club, if he moves back abroad thats his loss sadly and we move on.

I can't see him staying. He will get better money elsewhere at a bigger club. No loyalty in football these days.

I think the club should try to keep him as he suits our new style.
However, it depends on other offers he may receive.

There's nothing wrong with him enjoying his time here but him not seeing us as his future. It will be disappointing if he chooses not to stay but he might be interested in seeing what offers he gets elsewhere & I'm sure his parent club would be happy to sell him on for more than money than the agreed upon price with us at the start of the season.

He's not ours at the end of the day. I'd love him to stay but don't begrudge him not. He gave 100% to the cause and was instrumental to us going up. But everyone is replaceable. Tyrer already looks like he's been here years and getting well meshed to the squad with a vocal presence at the back. BBM signed him so he's been brought in as someone that can do what the boss wants which makes a change from the past

Like to see him stay - but other keepers have been linked since the last transfer window .

Let’s see regarding Trott.

I’d like to keep him but I’m not too bothered. He’ll go if he gets the right move for him.
Could quite likely double his salary so who can blame him.

I’m absolutely sure he’s enjoyed his time here but that means little.

We couldn't afford del boy trotter let alone Nathan trott that's why we brought in the freebie keeper from Everton who will start the last game I'm sure, if trott is going back once the season ends there's no logic in playing him once we were up. He's a good shot stopper but is rooted to his line on long balls most the time and anything crossed in he stands on his line even if it's catchable in his 6 yard box in most cases. The same goes for anyone who's going id rather see them in a shirt who's here next season starting :bluescarf:

If we cannot get this over the line what hope for the season ahead ,?this is a must for me, if he goes elsewhere after been here all season knowing what he can and has done, it would be criminal to let him go.
If he flatly cannot stand playing here that's a different story but I very much doubt that.

I disagree.

If for example it’s a salary thing then it maybe outside the clubs budget and he may earn a lot more than he can here.

But we don’t know so let’s see how it pans out.

You see how it pans out,
i will carry on discussing as its a forum don' t need to be told to shut up and lets see how it pans out, sorry if that offends but if we did not discuss the forum would be pointless .
Regarding salary as I have said if we cannot compete with teams in the championship we may as well stay in this division.

Damn, that was a bit much. He isn't telling you to shut up but giving his opinion because as you say it's a forum. His opinion is wait & see, yours isn't. My opinion is you shouldn't take it so personally just because his opinion is different to yours.

Fair enough , but he does have a tendency to tell me what to do.

What the hell are you talking about?

Where did I tell you to shut up? I’d love to know.

Yes it’s a forum and that’s why I said I disagree.

That’s called a discussion.
It’s also called a difference of opinion.
Is that ok without you getting angry?

Thanks and that’s the common sense view.

This is how I see it. Would be great if he stayed but if someone offers him money that we can't then nothing can be done.

I don't know if that is the case, whether any discussions have even started or whatever.

The season hasn't even finished yet so no need to get into a panic about anything.

I am much more keen on us strengthening this summer than last for obvious reasons (the higher division).

But it's not until June that the window really properly opens so I won't be worrying too much about it until then, I'm sure BBM will have his plans and I'll trust his judgement - just like in the last two windows.

Plenty of times you have moaned about me banging on about something repeatly ,why say wait and see what pans out which is what you always say, you know well what you say, i am prepared to discuss the topic about trott ,to you it's pointless lets wait and see in other words do not go in about it or am I completely thick as that's not what you meant if its not what you meant and happy for this topic to open up then I apologise.

I’m glad a couple agree with me here instead of getting angry.

Can you try to explain because I’m completely lost with this guys reply?
