There's always a few that start it off.

It probably didn’t help highlighting the possibility on here!

Just let everyone know, Corky has told me “It’s Ok as No trouble and ever eventually got off.”

It was bound to happen.
As a result, many left the ground missing out on the planned celebrations.
In hindsight it would have been better to do the presentations in the directors box and let everyone on the pitch.
Very disappointing for many.

I wasn't in favour of it but Corky saying there were no issues makes me feel better.

To be fair the majority listened to the stadium announcer and got off the pitch quickly.

It was the EFL threatening to cancel presentations, not the club. They were probably worried about there being trouble.

It would have been better if everyone stayed off so everyone could enjoy the celebrations..that failed despite the club doing their best...plan B was to use all the staff to clear the pitch ,this took some time but eventually the ceremony went ahead and was enjoyed by those that stayed..it was Ok in the sense that the players and their families got to enjoy it .

There’s already a video doing the rounds of a ‘pitch invader’ taking a swing at a steward!

Easily identifiable, if they decide to follow it up, too!

Otherwise, it all looked friendly and purely celebratory after a long winter of football :ayatollah:

Sorry Corky but is the players and their family enjoying it really the important thing here?

I’m pretty sure the players and their families will enjoy the substantial salaries they get and the benefits they get from being a professional footballer

Let the fans have their moment ffs

Just my opinion and in no way having a go at corky here before anyone gets their nickers in a twist

Fair point mate, look its a sensitive subject because its a criminal offence to enter the field of play when the players are still on it, especially opponents players, there is a duty of care to protect them, but it becomes more muddied when its a celebration rather than something sinister. Yesterday a few young kids got knocked over but not badly hurt, then we had the pyro and a small group of fans trying to intimate the away fans, who were probably the most mildest decent fans we have had at the stadium all season.

The EFL has rules that clubs must follow or they can be fined heavily, you must do proper searching ,especially at these type of games due to the risk of Pyro, there is always good searching but it was enhanced again yesterday, you must protect the pitch you must make it as safe as possible for spectators and players, once a pitch invasion happen s, control is lost for a short time and anything can happen, fans and players can get injured not through malice but simply be the force of numbers.

Yesterday apart from a few minor incidents everything went OK and everyone eventually left the pitch and the planned celebrations were enjoyed by the players and the families , so everyone was happy , however a few thousand did leave and will complain that they had to miss things, you can never please everyone. The club wants everyone to enjoy the celebrations but its not as straight forward as you think.

Sorry these pitch invasion makes us look like a small club who won an fa cup match . All big clubs fans keep off the pitch so everyone can see the medals and trophy.

I thought the club did everything they could. Plenty of posts on social media telling people not to go on the pitch.

The search before going into Canton was much more rigourous than usual to try and stop pyro etc.

Stadium announcer made loads of announcements in a respectable way asking fans to leave the pitch.

In the end it couldn't be avoided and the players still got their moment with their families at the end.

I don't know why those that left didn't wait for people to leave the pitch though. Stadium announcer made clear the presentation would happen if fans left the pitch relatively quickly - which they eventually did.

Fans should have stayed of the pitch the celebration would have been much better if everybody had stayed in the stands and the usual songs would have been played being a former footballer at the level I played it’s the same principle fans should stay off the pitch yes I get the fact it’s a long season and we have played a lot of money over the season to watch city and to get to take youre kids on the pitch to celebrate but it is better for the players to celebrate with us when we are in the stands

Hello my friend

Looking back with a clear head and without a belly fully of beer I’m dissapointed in myself that I even wrote that and apologise, especially the sly dig about the players and salaries

Totally understand the rules and the hard job you guys and the staff, security and stewards do to make it a safe environment for everyone

As you said thankfully apart from a few small incidents in the main it was fine

No offence intended in my post, you are 100% correct it’s not as simple as people think, thank you for all the hard work you and the Team put in, we all appreciate it and always have

Agree. Understandable if it was to get into the Premier League but we’ve come second in League One.

Pitch invasion for this makes us look like a small club.
