" Details of promotion celebrations this Saturday "

Fri Apr 24, 2026 1:00 pm

Our Championship-bound Bluebirds will celebrate their incredible season following the end of the match with Northampton Town.

After the final whistle, the City players will return to the dressing room while the EFL set up the presentation stage on the pitch.

Brian Barry-Murphy and his squad will then be reintroduced once everything is ready and presented with their medals and the trophy.

The Bluebirds and their loved ones will do a lap of honour following the medal ceremony to say thank you to our amazing fans for their phenomenal support during the 2025/26 season.

We look forward to another special day at the home of Welsh football!

Important everyone stays off the pitch so this can go ahead.

Can’t help but feel like players love a pitch invasion just as much as fans do. Photos of players on fans shoulders get plastered through the halls of CCS and the tunnel!

I think a lot of pitch invasions are a by product of achieving success’on the day’, so hopefully the vast majority of regulars. Will have some decorum and want to ‘thank’ BBM and his team for their success and celebrate their promotion/trophy/medals :ayatollah:

That's not the point though, these players have achieved something and deserve the right to celebrate properly on the pitch. That won't be possible if people run on the pitch.

It could also lead to the presentation not happening which would be a great shame for everyone.

Also, tomorrow isn't the day when we achieved promotion so it wouldn't be a spontaneous moment of celebrating by running on the pitch.

Fans should not invade the pitch and should stay in the stands to celebrate with the team properly.

I’m not disagreeing, and it is a separate point. I’m just intrigued by the nature of fan invasions from the players perspective. I don’t have the answer to it, I’m not a player! Would be interested to know how they find it

Let's try to act like a big club and see the presentation done professionally and no selfish running on the pitch so everyone can see.
