This year is the ten year anniversary of them winning the Premier League too.

They're going to have huge financial issues, can't see them coming straight back up.

Maybe they should have appointed BBM in the summer, he was on their coaching staff but let him come to us.

When Dave Jones was here, we were on a par with Leicester City and beat them in the play-offs before losing to Blackpool @ Wembley in the final (the day Bothtoyd bottled it IMHO)

They also had a Malaysian owner (may he RIP) but they won the Premier League title and FA Cup, whilst we had a couple of single seasons at the top before stagnating and ending up in League One

Their ownership (and model) changed after their Malaysian owner was tragically killed in a helicopter crash and they’ve been on the tumble since

It’s sad in many ways but I do find some irony that we are trading places yet again; this time in our favour for once! :ayatollah:

People think our relegation was a disaster theirs is of titanic proportions! Some Players on 60k a week need to get clubs ...
Stat 1 Academy £4m a year to run plus huge training centre one best in Europe what's cost running that? All this and ongoing financial problems .... hard times for clubs non playing staff those that are left after huge cost cutting that is.

I’m not sure Sven but I thought their owner was Thai?
But agree with what you say, makes our decline no where near as bad, so although we are in not a great place there plenty of teams worse off than us.

You are spot on there Alan. As mentioned above there are teams in worse positions than us with worse owners, not that that makes our good, just not the worst.

If memory serves me right. They were the reason poi to deduction for administration was brought in

Built a stadium, went into administration, paid pennies in the pound to creditors then got promoted to the Premier League.

That guy who’s always in the car park getting photos with the players and his family every week will be gutted.

Exactly. A point that was rarely mentioned when they were doing so well.

How the hell has this side got relegated. They've got an unbelievable squad. Wow...I know they had a small points deduction but just goes to show how important the managers job is. No matter how good you are on paper, you've got to galvanise a team and get them playing for the shirt.

The side should have been challenging for top 2. Probably too many ageing players but they had Jordan James who has just been voted Championship young player of the year and was their top scorer with 11 goals. Would have relegated weeks ago without him so just goes to show how bad the rest have been. When the 6 points were deducted that ended their play off hopes and they seemed to have given up without realising until too late that they had a fight on their hands to avoid relegation. Going to have financial problems next year if that lot are still under contract.

Nice to see Gary Rowett get relegated. I have never forgiven him for his part in Snowgate! I got up that day at 4.30 to dig my car out of the snow to go to Derby. :banghead:

As much as I would like to see Jordan James here, he's not Leicester's player. He is on loan from Rennes in France...

True enough Chris but I think you’ll find he was Thai not Malaysian.

You must be getting mixed up with another Malaysian owner ;)
