I think we may sell 23 especially with the £5 tickets. Not sure there'll be that many there. Know a few season ticket holders giving it a miss

What a shame fans cannot turn up in big numbers in mentioned this a few months back and others said when we get closer to promotion the fans would be back ?.

We are not this massive club some fans believe us to be. We have the potential to be but that’s as far as it goes.

22000 is a decent crowd midweek, especially considering Port Vale are only bringing a few hundred.
I'd like to think saturday will be bigger but we aren't bad.
I don't know what people think we are, but to average 20000 in League One is decent. We've had years of decline.

The biggest problem we have is not the crowds as such , its the fact at 33 k the stadium is way too big for us
Its no good being able to fill it when we play the likes of chelsea .....its the rest of the time it looks crap and the atmosphere is rubbish
It was a monumental feck up to add that extra seating and a stadium the size of Hull City or Bolton or Stoke woukd have been far better with 22 k in it against Port Vale

I used to think we were on the level of Bolton , Stoke etc but they are bigger than us
Plymouth , Watford , Jacks , Preston , Bristol City is our level

Hopefully the championship will be more suited to our stadium, bigger crowds.

I am sure we will see a big increase and we will also see bigger away followings
There were only 4 big clubs in league 1 ...Bolton , Bradford , Us and Plymouth
But we are sort of back in the big time come August and I reckon we will average 24 k next season

I'm struggling to understand why people are disappointed with an expected crowd of 22k for a League One game on a Wednesday night where there will be celebrations, but our season is already decided.
I wanted 23k+ and that could still happen but I'm impressed the club expect 22k.
This is League One and that's decent for a Wednesday night, even with the ticket offer.

Not being funny but it should be a sellout. Will there be a pitch invasion?

Ned,
I have said about attendances all season much to my detroment, and have been told plenty, that come closer to promotion the crowds will increase, well lets be honest they have not, but on the night of our first game as a promoted team and the last 2 games of the season you would exspect the fans to turn out to welcome the promoted team under the lights
and saturday "should" be the same as the chelsea game 33,000 surely. The team and manager deserve that,
this is not just a bog standard midweek game we are back in the championship PROMOTED.

33,000 Saturday is way too optimistic

We're currently averaging 19,419 (which will raise by the end of the season).
Going back 11 years (due the COVID season, which has been excluded), this has only been bettered 4 times. 2 years ago for Buluts mid table (21,213), then 3 years around 2017 to 2020 when we got to the came 2nd in the championship, spent 1 season in the prem and then the relegation year to follow.
Every other championship season has averaged lower, and there's a possibility we'll pass the championship promotion year average if we maintain this 22k in the last 2 home games.
The minority perception of our expected crowds is nonsense. Averaging more than 6 championship seasons in league 1 should be celebrated, not picked apart weekly! The aim should be to try and grow attendances next season, but as per the last 11 seasons, if we operate anywhere outside of the top 6 or above in the championship; it's unlikely.

You’re being silly now.
Stoke are averaging 4,000 more than us but in a Division above us, with game after game on their door step where Teams will sell out the away end
Bolton are averaging 2,000 more than us in the same division but will have had multiple teams sell out their away end week after week
Watford averaging 1,000 less than us in a division above, Swansea and Preston averaging 3,000 less than us despite being in a higher division, to say we are on a level with them is a joke
Anyone know what the average away attendance is at each stadium, it would be interesting to know what was the average number of away fans that visited Bolton against what visited us?
Lastly, I agree, it would be nice if our crowds are higher but as said before out crowds, at this level are the best they have been in years so take the positive not the negative

You have just run off what seems to be the stock answer from an element of cardiff fans when our support is questioned .....and that is basically a bunch of excuses .....why do our fans continually give the jacks ammo to take the piss ?
We have a far bigger catchment area than the likes of Preston , Bolton , Stoke , Swansea yet our crowds are either less or just a few thousand more
Thats not good enough
We are just an average club in terms of support and next season we will be towards the bottom end of the division , a few thousand above Swansea , Preston etc
We are nowhere near as big a club as Bolton or Stoke
Plymouth are our level although not in terms of away support as we cant touch that lot
