" Really frustrating "

Postby worcester_ccfc » Mon Apr 06, 2026 3:59 pm

A really frustrating result today. We dominated the majority of the game and deserved to win.

But like I said after Blackpool, all that matters is the result.

Unfortunately our problems were caused by Kpakio, hate to say it but he was at fault for their goal.

Wintle played well and so did Robertson when he came on.

But my MOTM was Will Fish.

Ultimately, we are going up but I'm really frustrated we didn't get the winner we deserved.

f**k hate to say it.
Kpakio is good going forward, but if he’s going to continue playing full back, he needs to watch NG a lot more closely with regards to how to f*cking defend.

Lose to Bolton, and I'd not be so sure about promotion myself. Not been the same since RC returned who has to play so it seems, yet JC hardly any minutes since!

Lose to Bolton we’d be 5 points up on them with a game in hand and superior GD, and only 5 games left (they have to play Bradford too).

Are we going up? The longer we go without a win the more we will panic and bottle it. I am very concerned at our lack of clinical edge right now. I can't see any way we beat Bolton next week. Lose and we are in serious trouble. BBM had 16 days to get thus right, he hasnt.

Only need eight points and that's if Bradford win all their games.

Draw with Bolton and one more win will more than likely do it.

Going up? Have to say my confidence is dissipating by the week. Our form is lower midtable at best and we can't hit a barn door from 3 yards currently.

It seems a coincidence that without Joel in the middle, our results have dipped badly.

Kpackio has been awful for a while needs dropping to U21. Have my doubts now he'll push on to succeed as a player too.

The common denominator - A proud very talented Cardiff player through and through but alas since Rubin has come back we have lost our way as a team.

Luckily promotion is decided by 46 games, not form at the end of the season.

You can't blame one player when we are not capable of scoring more than one goal.

I'm not. I'm saying it caused us problems because he was at fault for their goal and other chances they had.

I also said we should have got the goal we needed.

I'm obviously not blaming Kpakio for us not scoring a winner, anyone with half a brain cell can see that.

How can we have 29 shots at goal again, and only score one AGAIN? Do we practice shooting from different angles during the week, as it certainly doesn’t look like it? Tanner in particular, never seems to find the target, and Ashford today was also poor in front of goal. One thing that also frustrates me is the amount of time Bagan takes to trot over to the right wing to take a corner and and then hit the all all along the ground to the nearest defender - I counted three times today. To give a goal away within a minute of going ahead was dreadful, with some shocking defending. We were lucky not to concede another not long afterwards.
We are missing the industry of Joel Colwill in midfield, and it is noticeable that since, for some inexplicable reason, he has been sitting on the bench, we have only won one match. Rubin looked absolutely shattered at the end of the game today. AND please do not play Kpakio at left back again as he is a liability in that position.
I still think we will go up directly, but this last month has been very frustrating to watch.

You can’t pin the continued poor execution in the final third on BBM. However, there’s no way we should be leaving that pitch with just one goal. We completely dominated, any neutral would’ve thought it was a cup tie, not two sides from the same league.

What I will say is this, you can’t take 29 shots while Ashford and Tanner waste chance after chance and still leave Colwill, Robinson, and Willock on the bench and not make the changes to those wing positions.

They could have put Kellyman in for Tanner position, Willock on for Ashford. Robinson or J Colwill for Ruban.

There was so much space for our attackers today, this wasn’t a game with 11 men behind the ball. Our lack of clinical finishing has cost us again and ultimately thrown away two points.

Couple of things stand out to me at the moment. Very frustrating performances lately first and foremost.

Number one thing that I’m noticing is confidence has dipped massively. When you have a young team playing this kind of way when you’re confident everything looks amazing and instinctive. At the moment starting to look laboured and panicked.

The other thing that is the main thing that worries me is for a while now I’ve been worried about how hard we seem to have to work to score and how easily our opponents manage it. They just kick a ball up the middle and chaos ensues. They had two one on ones I believe today that were just long kicks, meanwhile we are playing around the box like prime Barcelona.

I think confidence is the main problem, if we beat someone with a good performance it will come flooding back. If we don’t and keep going like this…. Trouble maybe

It’s starting to look like that is the case. Joel, Robertson and wintle in the middle is our best combination in my opinion.

Fair play, that's quite funny

The crosses actually seemed to get worse when Salech came on funnily enough.

I didn’t see the game today so can’t comment on today. Tanner was whipping in balls for fun for a few games after Salech got injured typically. If we can get back to that with Salech in the team we should be looking dangerous in front of goal again.

Wasnt a poor performance but a Typical city performance when we fail to win? lots style no substance from poor defending to poor decision making to poor crossing to very poor Shooting..... posh never really put in low block so we had freedom of park but we never capitalised on it... we brought salech on and he had precisely no crosses to try and score from or make chance for someone else! That generally as been the situation most season despite his goal tally...and what possessed them to play short with free kick when we'd gone past allotted added time! Again not 1st time we've done that... but we will still be promoted as not enough games left for others to overtake us but if was 12 games left be a lot more concerned.

Maybe we BBM has reached the limit with the quality available? We have the possession, we have the shots but the shot quality and crosses are mostly poor.

Glad to see Salech back, atleast we can get a focal point back up front.

Really confused why we dont see more of Joel

Very frustrating but I thought overall we played really well.

Made a ton of chances, half chances and shots just couldn’t score and I never felt we would score a second.

Our defending in general was ok but our weak spot is getting hit on the break.

I agree with the fact that we have to bombard a goal, Yet the opposition just whacks the ball down the middle and we part like the Red Sea. Teams have us figured out too. Cardiff will have a lot of possession but are mentally fragile, so bide your time boys and hit them on the counter

If we do get promoted we're going to need two central defenders at least.

Chambers was a disaster in the Championship and Osho clearly can't be trusted.

Not going to be easy on a budget of f**k all.

I am starting to think we have reached the limit of BBM managerial ability. Undoubtedly an amazing development coach, but he is getting done far too often against savvy managers who know he won't shift from his belief, philosophy, or whatever tag the new breed wants to place on their style. It's the first team pro's, it's about winning. I have yet to see him adapt; he throws on an extra forward when we are chasing the game, but that's part of plan A.
The forwards are the difference between the leagues, and if we give genuine championship-level strikers as many chances as we do we'll get punished.

It will be a big summer for him as a manager. He inherited this mismatched, uneven sqaud and made something out of it, so lets see what happens with a full window, now he has seen everybody at close quarters
