CAN ANYONE SEE TAN INVESTING AFTER SALE CASE?

Postby montyblue » Fri Apr 03, 2026 7:36 pm

I personally cannot see Tan stumping up millions of pounds after loosing millions more on the sala case,to put a championship team together we need big funds next season
he will either have to sell or will leave us floundering at the bottom of the championship again with bo investment and hopes murphy can produce miricales
.Thats (if we are promoted).

My worry is if we fail to go up we could see a fire sale of all our biggest assets to cover our losses , it's so important we dont mess this up or it could be a long few years ahead

Sadly my answer is no.

We will need investment to have a half decent season in the Championship but I just can't see Tan providing that - which is why he needs to sell.

Of what I know about BBM, I think he has ambition and wouldn't happy about sitting in the bottom half of the Championship for three years. Not saying promotion should be a demand next season, but he will want some optimism from the club that they will back up in the transfer market.

This is the big, big question now.

I think we’ll get promoted for sure but I just can’t see Tan leaving somehow.

I think he may try to add to the squad on the cheap but I don’t think he’ll invest the amount needed for us to have a successful season in the Championship next season.

We need half a dozen new players in my opinion.

it depends on what you call investment? He's put in around 15-20million each season for years

It's important we beat Peterborough, we can't give Bolton a sniff, if we lose, Bolton are right up for it. Massive match

Wez

I understand there is a steady flow to keep things running but that's not my problem if you own a football club exspect to spend.

For us to be back in the Championship a serious amount would be needed to be spent
"over and above" the yearly spend,
that was my point, our current team could not compete in the championship on a fair footing

we would be languishing in the relegation spots all over again.

Has he?

What happened to the Sala case you argued about for years on Tans Side?

Plus he wants to still be here so if we lose money it’s totally down to him.

It's Tan’s business and we are just his customers
If his business is losing so much money to the point that he has to spend 20 million a year just to keep it afloat then that's his fault for running his business into the ground

Tan makes the financial decisions if he feels past managers have wasted money on player contracts then that's down to him signing those deals off

The fact is Tan has spent money but he has spent it poorly

He could have had everything he wanted when we went up under Malky

We were in premier league playing in red and even then he couldn't help himself and decided to stick his nose in and make his and Malky's issues public by reporting it to the media

I have no sympathy for the man and the money he has burned on us just proves he needed someone with football knowledge to help him or he should have just never got involved in football in the first place
But he is too stubborn to accept it

the man is out of his depth and our club can't keep cost cutting and hoping for miracles to progress

Things have to change sooner rather than later

That would imply that it stopped, which I don't think it ever has.
