Tue Mar 31, 2026 4:17 pm

Tottenham have appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach.
Sky Sports News

The 46-year-old has signed a five-year deal which doesn't include a relegation clause.
De Zerbi said: "I am delighted to be joining this fantastic football club, which is one of the biggest and most prestigious in the world.
"In all my discussions with the club’s leadership, their ambition for the future has been clear - to build a team capable of reaching great achievements, and to do that playing a style of football that excites and inspires our supporters. I am here because I believe in that ambition and have signed a long-term contract to give everything to deliver it.

"Our short-term priority is to climb the Premier League table, which will be the complete focus until the final whistle of the last game of the season. I’m looking forward to getting out on the training pitch and working with these players to achieve that
."

De Zerbi becomes the club's third boss this season, tasked with saving Spurs from Premier League relegation.
Spurs are 17th, one point clear of the relegation zone with just seven matches to play.
Bruno Saltor is expected to remain on the coaching staff at Tottenham and work with De Zerbi.

I think this will see them stave off relegation and deny us a couple of good games (home and away) next season!

Hmm, not sure how this will go.

He could keep them up but their remaining games are tough. West Ham and Forest are looking good at the moment too.

He has a track record of falling out with players and stuck up for the horrible Mason Greenwood.

It would be good all around if they were relegated, well except for them.

This is another disaster appointment. Exactly who I thought they'd go for

5 year contract, the spurs fans will want him out of he don't win his first game that's how embarrassing football fans have become in today's football  he will probably be gone within 10 games of next season if that with a big payday suits him either way as they will hound him out as think there a top elite champions League club and they are not yet zero time to build his own team or style to suit what he wants to do there

Patience is a precious commodity that is short in quantity; and our club’s supporters are not immune to its scarcities!

The ‘issue’ with De Zerbi seems to be with his ‘support’ of Mason Greenwood and how he worded it. I’m not too sure of the full facts of the matter but it sounded like he was saying ‘Mason is a good guy’ when that was clearly not the case after the charges were only dropped by the CPS because of the late withdrawal of several key witnesses meant there was no longer a reasonable prospect of conviction

I have to say 5 years for a Tottenham contract is crazy and if he sees out next season, he will have done exceptionally well!

Previous stats at Previous clubs suggest he doesn't normally start well, which is not what Spurs need. I personally wouldn't mind them staying up as if they come down they will more than likely take a promotion spot next season. That only matters to us if we go up. Regardless I think the teams that come down like Wolves will be difficult next season, but could do without Spurs adding to the mix.
