A forum for all things Cardiff City

Looking at the form table we are in the bottom half, is this down to teams figuring out how to combat the false 9 and no plan b or are we just unlucky at the moment, I have full faith in bbm to turn this wobble around but even if we win then lose for the rest of the season it should still be enough to see us over the line barring a big up turn in form for Bolton or Bradford

Definitely...thank christ we only have 8 games left and not 18!
Not sure whether it's fatigue or pressure getting to the players. Very possible more our style of play is just becoming easy to combat for the opposition. Either way, we are definitely out of form.

To be honest I'm not too bothered about that table. When you analyse it, Lincoln are gone to us and I don't see them losing again this season. They've gone 21 unbeaten and will fight to the death to carry that to the end of the season, as their late goals prove. The other sides in that table down to Bolton will not catch us. Now, to Bolton. Over the 6 games on that table they still only improved our results by 3 points and they were all draws. Now, to Bradford. Over the 6 games they again have only improved our results by 3 points. This time by one win. Am I disappointed we have fallen off our chance to win the league, YES, but with only 8 games left and still 10 points ahead of Bolton and 11 points ahead of Bradford, and if this form table keeps going at this pace, we will still get 2nd by some way, that's the main aim now. Statistics etc. eh.

I'm not concerned at all because we're extremely likely to go up. Just three wins does it.
We've seen on Saturday and last night that both Bolton and Bradford are incapable of putting pressure on us.
Lincoln will probably win the league and fair play to them.

Lincoln deserve it they've been relentless and like you say unless Bradford or Bolton have a momentous turn around we will finish second, it's just a small concern for me the dip in form we are experiencing

That form table suggests that both Bradford and Bolton will close the gap by 3 points in the next 6 games. If that is all they manage we can party with 2 games left.

Yeah the point you're making is fair mate.
I'm just saying that I don't see anyone from 3rd or below to get the necessary points to overtake us.

Not for me
Last 6 games
Lost to Wycombe, not what we wanted but always up against it after sending off
Beat Exeter 4-0
Drew Away at Barnsley, nothing wrong with that
Lost to Lincoln, have to accept we lost to the better team on the day
Beat Doncaster 4-0
Lost to Plymouth who are 2nd in the same form table
Ultimately we are 2nd in the League, 10 points clear of 3rd, unbeaten in 30 games of the 38 played so far with 8 to play and 24 points available
Also, take a look at Bolton in 3rds remaining fixtures for anyone concerned, also Bradford
They are not catching us

Of course it is, as this is our current form and if it continues we might just get over the line, but many fans won’t be encouraged by it and won’t turn up

Agree.
Most fans want us to keep our earlier form up and go for it big time.
Obviously, promotion is the main thing but I really wanted to win the league and if it wasn’t for our bad form of late I think we could.

I feel exactly the same Paul,
If we went up in style more season ticket sales for next season fans would be on a high.
Going up is of course what we want but scraping over the line will deter fans for next season.

On the positive side, we’ve had a rough patch, but losing to the three most in-form teams in the division isn't the end of the world. We’re due to find our form again, and getting Salech back on the pitch changes everything. We're about to face teams that aren't at the top of the form guide, so it's a great chance to kick on again. If anything, I think the gap will grow over Bolton and Bradford.

I'm part agreeing as obviously any poor run of form is a concern.
I do think we will stay 2nd and agree that winning league etc would get more bums on seats last few games. But I disagree with the amount of season tickets next year as previous seasons in championship I think we will average same as 12 to 14 k where we have been last 3 or so years.
And I think if for instance the Bolton game etc is a game where we virtually guarantee promotion then that will attract more people on the day

Our form will come back, we aren't even playing badly. Plymouth was the only bad performance in that run. Lincoln we were out coached. Barnsley was fine, Wycombe hinged completely on the red card and we smashed Exeter and Doncaster.
With regards to season tickets this will all be forgotten once we get over the line. The positivity of lack there of will be generated by what we do in the summer
