Strength in Depth

Generally, BBM picks his best players from a “decent” squad of about 16! Apart from the starting 11 tonight I look to the bench and see a couple of solid options in Joel Colwell Scanlan and Fish. Also obviously Salech when back to fitness is a key player. All reasonably young and who may do ok in the Championship.
BUT, (assuming we get promoted), we will need more depth to ensure we compete well..

That means replacing some players.
I don’t think Robinson, Willock Turnbull or Chambers are up to the standard of the Championship. They showed that last year and they are of an age where there is no untapped potential.

100% with you on the players to potentially move on. I think Turnball is class (possibly the most technically gifted player we have) but all 4 of them don't play with enough heart or determination for me. They all go missing the second we come up against a team that fight for every ball.

This squad is crying out for a hard nut or 2, a couple of warriors. No reason why our possession stats and all that jazz needs to suffer from doing so. We've just got such a soft under belly its unreal.

We are crying out for a couple of fighters to mix in with the youth and talent we do have. That will see us alright in the championship then.

We lack physicality all over the park

Basically we are on the same wavelength. Also All 4 are a bit slow.
The forward players I mentioned, lack determination and are reluctant to put in any meaningful challenges - especially Robinson!
Willock just about gels away with it in L1, but he can hardly ever take a man on. At least Ashford and Tanner have some pace to beat a man

We're going up.

But we need a bigger squad for the Championship. He got the squad size right for this league.

We also need better players for the Championship.

Agreed if you look on the match thread, I said Robertson was our best player in the first half, by a country mile. But I am not criticising BBM as he has done a brilliant job so far, and he is a prize asset!
