POLL: AARON RAMSEY - A STEP TOO FAR?

Tue Mar 17, 2026 1:13 pm

Aaron Ramsey has been omitted from the Wales squad for the upcoming World Cup Play-offs, so is this the right time for him to hang up his Wales boots and maybe accompany the squad in another (supporting) capacity?

I want to make it clear that this is not a ‘Rambo’ bashing thread! He’s a legend in a Wales shirt and deserves all the plaudits he gets!

I am a huge supporter of Aaron Ramsey and simply don’t want his huge legacy to be tarnished, so I believe now is the time to call it a day in a Wales shirt :thumbright:

I think the most worrying thing for me and I follow Wales home and away is that outside the current squad named, I have no idea of what else is coming through. If we are currently naming Mark Harris in the squad, one-dimensional Sorba Thomas then I fear things are going to go down hill.

I don't believe he should have gone to the last World Cup, and Page showed too much loyalty, great player in his day but time to move on.

Should have retired at the end of last season if not before & I've always been a fan.

It's time to call it a day unfortunately

I'd love to see him get a coaching role for Wales though think it would benefit Wales and Ramsay

Sven
I think most wales fans would agree with you on this his best years were left in France 2016 along with his blond hair.

He's in danger of tarnishing his legacy.

He has been a brilliant player for clubs and country. But now needs to accept it's over.

Surely he couldn't realistically expect to be in the squad having not played since September?

Why hasn't he got a club?

That’s my worry, Ned

ANNIS

Been totally honest he never gave us much back after his return,
1 good game against swansea is all that stands out for me and just trying to stay fit for wales games I think cardiff imo was 2nd in his mind wales was first.

He's hasn't played for six months and barley played the two seasons before that, this is a total no brainer. Not like he's ancient if he can get a club and play week in week out then ye sure, but it's unlikely to happen

Exactly this.
