SURELY NOW WE ARE THERE

Sat Mar 14, 2026 4:43 pm

We have 3 of the bottom 4 at home
Blackpool
Port vale
Northampton
11 points clear bolton of 3rd

Bradford loosing to wigan 2 -0 today

Re: SURELY NOW WE ARE THERE

I think so Monty.

My quick scan shows that Bolton need to win every game in a horror run against most of the top 6; which they wont. That gets them to a max of 92. We're averaging 2.05 points per game so would get there in the 9 games remaining. Boltons inability to not draw means it'll likely happen in less games.

Bradford have really fucked up at Wigan today.

One foot in for me. :occasion5:

Only Cardiff City could make this more tense than it needs to be :laughing6:

You think so thought we were going to fail as we didn’t get a striker. I have to agree you right we really missing him only scoring 4 again today in his absence. lol.

You'd hope so. Our GD alone is worth an extra point.

Come on City!

Would love to see Salech and Isaac back for the run in.

Never ever said we were going to fail without getting a striker in janary,
but I did say it was prudent to get a striker as cover and I was not the only one who thought that.

I don’t think he ever said we were going to fail without bringing in a striker but I thought he was so over the top banging on and on about it.

Regarding the OP, personally, I hate talk like this until we’ve (hopefully) done it.

Can never be 100% until it's done, but it's almost inevitable now.

I never really doubted it since the new year and today just increases the confidence.

Re: SURELY NOW WE ARE THERE

The chasing pack were never going to be consistent enough to put a run together to catch us. The two best teams Cardiff and Lincoln will get promoted.

Re: SURELY NOW WE ARE THERE

Sat Mar 14, 2026 5:59 pm

I said a little while ago 85 points would do us for promotion and I stand by that.

I think it may be less than that Bolton would need to be over 2pts a game to make 85

Re: SURELY NOW WE ARE THERE

Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:13 pm

Yes you're probably right, just checked Bolton's results & they haven't won more than 2 games in a row once this season.

Re: SURELY NOW WE ARE THERE

Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:18 pm

I think promotion is a certainty now.
But it's not in matches like today that we miss Salech, but against matches like the 1-1 draw against Barnsley where his presence could have been the difference between one and three points.

Re: SURELY NOW WE ARE THERE

Sat Mar 14, 2026 6:21 pm

Give it a few more games
then we will be there
Bolton can't win games but we can
so if they drop more points then it will only get us to the finish line quicker

Completely agree there are certain teams we are just going to steamroll no matter who plays. We need him for the teams that will battle.

Ha ha brilliant. There has been a lot of not signing will cost us.

Cost us what unless it’s promotion.

I'm still not popping the champagne corks until we're over the line, been burnt to many times over the years, but we're so so close

Yes, of course, the gap will grow over Bolton and below. Can we catch Lincoln now, and with our run in it's a real possibility. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Agreed, there was a lot of panic. We have missed Salech, but we always had enough to manage without him for a few months, as with Colwill and Lawlor. We've had potentially three of our main players out and hardly noticed, superb job by BBM and the team.
