10 games to go, fantastic from BBM

Wed Mar 11, 2026 11:49 am

If you said to me with 10 games to go before a ball was kicked we’d be on 73 points with a record of W22 D7 L7 with a league cup run knocking out Burnley and Wrexham getting to the quarters giving Chelsea a game with the way we played on the deck I’d snapped your hand off.

Overall this squad by 2nd May would have played 52 games and we done all this with a coach with next to no experience as a first team coach with no pot to piss in the transfer window developing youngsters who had a bit of experience and some who had 0, not saying criticism isn’t deserved from last couple games and I was at the Plymouth game and we enjoyed a fantastic run without Salech and since Lincoln away.

The team needs us and not a knee jerk reaction, the team has played a lot of games so the energy levels and fitness is starting to show with some showing fatigue.

I think if we can see this through it will be very underrated achievement just because of the stature of the club and how long we been in the championship but not realising the rut we been in on the pitch and off it.. first time of asking with no real funds and using what we came down with and bringing the academy boys through is unbelievable.

Yes last couple games we have been underwhelming but let’s get behind the boys and turn it around <O>

Couldn’t agree more mate!!! Before the season started I genuinely thought we’d be closer to relegation than promotion. Look at Luton and Plymouth, scrambling to attempt to make the playoffs.

This has been one of the most enjoyable seasons I’ve had as a fan. Great football, good cup run, in the promotion spots with a huge amount of young talent from the academy. What’s not to love.
Last couple of games have been poor but young players are very confidence based and a wobble was bound to happen. I think because we’ve been so good fans are tricked into thinking it’s easier in this league than it actually is. If we go up with this amount of young players and playing this way we’ve done incredibly. Keep the faith!

Great post, I was at Barnsley last night, and you could see the lads, had given their all, especially at the end as they walked over towards the tunnel and us. Some if not most looked completely drained. And that worried me, but I'm convinced BBM and his team can get them recovered and ready to go again.

Another thing to remember is that we have been the team, the rest of the division have wanted to beat. We go to various grounds and its their cup final. Teams come to CCS and its their cup final, and Cardiff has to compete against teams that will up their game - thus more pressure on our players. So to be where we are with the players we have, we should be giving them all our support, on the field , and on message boards - please :bluescarf:

I'll absolutely agree with every word you've said - the minute we achieve promotion.

Until then - he's done well but the job's not done.
