Team for Barnsley?

Sat Mar 07, 2026 11:48 pm

Trott
Ng Lawlor Chambers Scanlon
Joel Wintle Robertson
Tanner Kellyman Willock.

Subs:
Keeper (?)
Kapakio
Fish
Turnbull
Ashford
Rubin
Robinson

Bagan needs a well deserved rest. We need Chamber’s captaincy, experience and reliability. Joel must start as he is the engine and gets us on the front foot.

Same side I would go with except I'd like to see Salech back on the Bench as we really need a plan b for when plan a isn't working

I'd make no changes we did nothing wrong.

Lincoln just had our number.

But the manager makes changes, think that Willock comes in.

Kellyman needs to play through the middle he's far more effective there than out wide in my opinion , rubin can come on last 20 against a tired defence and kill them off

Wow you think that was our best today?

Worcester
I respect you as a moderator. But you cannot be serious with your opinion. Kellyman has to be central and if that leaves our Rubin - so it does.

Surely changes in formation, Ned? :?

Our biggest downfall today was Tanner being on the wrong side and (maybe) not starting with Willock? :ayatollah:

Agree tanner has been playing on the right all season and cutting in more than going on the outside, he looked lost on the left, rubin is not a striker, and kellyman was out of the game on the wing for long periods.

Our biggest mistake is we don’t have defenders proper left and right defenders not wing backs is what we need against physical opponents

Re: Team for Barnsley?

Bagan looks exhausted; he has been quite poor recently.

Wintle & Robertson are the 2 sitters

IMO Rubin is a 10 who can play 8, rather than Kellymen, who is a 10 who can play 9, so without a striker, it has to be Kellymen as the striker. Joel is well ahead of Turnbull now and can replace Robertson or Rubin

Then you have to start Ashford and Willock.

I know nothing about Barnsley unless they have a monster forward, Chambers, and of course, a fit Lawlor

Re: Team for Barnsley?

Sun Mar 08, 2026 9:50 am

Do we know what is up with NG?
I would put Rubin on Bench, start Willock, Kellynan in middle up too.
Chambers back in as captain, alongside Lawlor.

Re: Team for Barnsley?

Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:08 am

Lawlor needs to return into our defence.
Osho needs a holiday
Kellyman, who had been scoring goals for fun as a central striker, should go back there.
Otherwise, I'm not to bothered on who else he chooses.
We simply have to get back to winning ways or watch Bolton creep up on us.

Re: Team for Barnsley?

Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:10 am

I hope perry is back i think he was a bigger miss than salech yesterday

Kellyman needs to be upfront

Re: Team for Barnsley?

Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:22 am

no square pegs round holes. The front 3 was wrong and they were deployed wrong. Kellyman needs to be central tanner right and we need a left sided player on the left, Only ashford is comfortable on both sides

Re: Team for Barnsley?

Trott needs to be dropped. Lawlor and Chambers the 2 centre backs. Kellyman central striker.Willock left wing with Tanner or Ashford on the right. Ng back in if he is fit.

Why is Trott being dropped? Also do people expect to go through the season not conceding any goals. There was a thread about how Fish must play after Plymouth because we got bullied. BBM will probably rotate them anyway but let's not drop the whole team because we lost a game. The biggest issue was we had no control of the game due to playing all those midfielders mostly out of position.

Trott should be dropped as he does not command his area - he hardly ever catches crosses and his punching is suspect - perhaps he lacks a bit of bravery. His distribution was poor yesterday too. Time for one of rhe other keepers to step up.

Spot on he was frustrating to watch yesterday and I think it's time to drop him for a game or 2

I don't think trott has been the same since his mistake against orient, his delivery is poor now he's very reluctant to come off his line which nearly cost us yesterday when bagan was waiting for him to come out, he doesn't command his box he should be smashing people out of the way to get to high balls and his shot stopping has dropped off a cliff

I really hope he can rediscover his early season form as he was immense and would be worth at least a few points during the run in

He has been immense this season but like you say hasn’t been the same since orient,

I think him and Bagan should be rested on Tuesday give turner of the new GK a chance and get scanlon involved

Bagan again has been immense this season but he looks tired and him and trott have been rotated the least in this squad so I'm not surprised

Perry Ng came in to the stadium feeling under the weather. He was checked out by the club doctor and sent home

It’s not yet known if he will be available for Tuesday but it’s thought to be a short-term issue :ayatollah:

Nathan Trott the first name on the team sheet for me, closely followed by Lawlor, Wintle, Robertson, Joel Colwill and Kellyman

Please put a GK on the bench just in case

Re: Team for Barnsley?

Just dont over react like the lions share of this forum. No major changes. Rubin & Tanner seem to be the fall guys, both are up there with the leagues best.

Re-motivate. Reset. Go again and secure promotion.

Hopefully NG returns and a few of the other injuries.
