Thank god fans don't own the club

Sat Mar 07, 2026 5:24 pm

I'm relieved that fans don't make the decisions, otherwise I'm assuming BBM would be sacked going by the wild comments from some on here.

There's overreactions and then there's this.

We've lost to the team who are technically the best team in the league.

We are eight points clear of third.

And remember the posts of "we'll be lucky to get top six" in July.

People need to to grow up and get a grip of themselves.

I suppose it's a natural reaction to point out our shortfalls after today.
To be top of the table for around 6 months had got fans thinking we were the best team in League one.
Now we all have doubts on our minds.
It's fairly certain we will go up and I think we would have accepted a draw today.
But to lose the lead to a club who are a lot smaller than us, on our own pitch and have their fans out sing us most of the match in our stadium feels very deflating.
Our bubble was waiting to be burst one day but this was the last day we wanted to witness it.

I disagree. Whereas I can understand your feelings I thinks 3 points on Tuesday (our game in hand oven Bolton) is far more important.

Bbm has plenty of credit in the bank but it's obvious for all to see we struggle against big physical teams and without Salech we don't have a plan b hopefully he is back this week and we bounce straight back as we can't afford to many more slip ups

Yes, the Bolton game is massive to help ensure automatic promotion, but I think most fans would have preferred a win today over this coming Tuesdays match!

Exactly, if we were eight points behind Bolton with them having a game in hand then we'd think top two was unlikely.

Don't know why people suddenly think we'll be out the top two even though we're in that position.

Ned,

Fans are hurt and care and it’s a reaction after such a defeat and its passion for our club.

By Monday we calm down  :bluebird: :bluescarf:

Annis, that's fair and I can accept that.

But it feels like every time we lose, people make out we're on the cusp of oblivion.

All I'm saying is there's no need to lose our heads and we're in a great place to get back where we should have stayed last season.

Trying to be optimistic, perhaps Lincoln will lose a match before much longer.
Hopefully, we will capitalise and regain top spot.
However, looking at their remaining fixtures, I can't see them losing many.
Roll on Tuesday, to get back to winning ways.

Promotion is the aim and 5/6 wins does that.

Will be nice to win the league but wouldn't begrudge Lincoln doing it. Well coached.

I don't understand the Lincoln are technically the best team in the league bit? They are top of the league and currently unbeaten in 18 but not a good footballing side. Lincoln play like we did with Warnock it's effective but will only get you so far. They had 23% possession. Our approach long term is better, I think Lincoln are effective but not technically good, good at defending.

In BBM we trust… But today it was a mistake to put Kellyman (one of our best players) out on the wing rather than in the middle.
BBM has been great in playing and developing our youngsters. I am confident he can get us up. These youngsters will be all the better for the experience this year.
I think he can get rid of one or two like Robinson (his contract renewal was a total waste), then he can get a couple in and we will be fine in the Championship.
We should have a song for BBM as he has been a breath of fresh air in the club. Let me have a think! :D :bluebird:

Re: Thank god fans don't own the club

Sat Mar 07, 2026 6:24 pm

I think BBM had a game plan to confuse their impressive centre halfs as Rubin was everywhere bar the central forward position. They were marking space nearly the whole game, but I couldn't work out what we were trying to do as our overloads were deep in Central midfield, we were tripping over each other.

Then Robbo comes on, who now thinks he is a midfielder, and we continued to be shapeless. Should have thrown Lawlor up there.

This is Peps' system, and even the great man can struggle against well-organised, tight, athletic teams who only want to hit you on the break.

We'll have too much for most of the teams, but this is a wake-up call to BBM and the upgrades we'll need next season

You don’t win promotion or a league title in one game and whilst today was dissapointing there are way more reasons to be positive

Over 27,000 crowd in Division 3
8 points clear of 3rd with a game in hand
18 points clear of 7th
An up and coming manager who isn’t perfect but gives it everything and travels round South Wales Meeting fans
Young Welsh players in the Team and thriving
Sell out most Away games

I know others will disagree and that’s absolutely fine but I’m not to bothered if we win the League or not, just Promotion back to the Championship will do

What concerns me more is if Tan will then back BBM or preferably for me well up to someone who wants to have a crack at it

Onwards and upwards, we have got this

As said above fans need to look at our own performances. Because after 20 mins the atmosphere in stadium was all Lincoln fans. If the players were shit then so were the fans

It's the manner of the defeat today I think Worcester. People are frustrated, I'm definitely one of them. We were beaten just so easily.

What do u do when u play a team like Lincoln. Fight fire with fire or do the complete opposite. We've got players that can only ever do the complete opposite so we keep ball and try and work an opening.

Problem is, we've struggled against teams like this all season so we knew this was coming today but other than swap a few players around (by playing them out of position), we did nothing to try and mix it up and do something a little different. We played in exactly the same way today as we played last week and the week before, and the week before that.

BBM has been a breath of fresh air and we are lucky to have him for sure. He's not devoid of criticism though and today, we were tactically enept. We offered nothing...and all infront of a league 1 record crowd.

Fair comments there.

My frustration was with the fans who are losing their heads after a couple of results.

But you make some valid points and we do need to mix it up a bit at times.

You are correct Lincoln will struggle in the championship next year. They were incredibly disciplined today and played it perfectly, their tactics also heavily relied on them scoring first though, if they'd been forced to step out we would have shredded them. That isn't going to work a level up especially when you start losing a few games and heads drop. If you stuck our team in the Championship without adding a single player I'm confident we'd win as many as we lose, we look like we can outplay teams much much higher than this level, but parking the bus and counter attacking is our Achilles heel

Glad I'm as popular as ever.

But stand by what I said.

Thanks for posting though, always interesting to hear what people on social media think.

All I'll say is I'll eat my hat if we're not promoted so no serious damage today.

I am positive about the team always.

Still believe we're in a brilliant position to get promoted.

I predicted we'd be 4th before the season so doing better than I thought. But 8 clear of 3rd with 11 to go is not too shabby.

It was so good today it was a joy to watch, nothing was wrong with the one trick pony system or anything we all watched i guess. Nothing else matters see
