And provided a target for our wide players to aim for. Hopefully back soon.

Like I just said on another thread, Salech playing today would mean the only difference would be Lincoln getting five more free kicks.

A Striker should of been brought in, in January.

Salech was injured in the transfer window and the club knew it was a 2/3 month injury. Salech told a friend of mine that early on. Crazy that a similar striker wasn't signed.

Kellyman has been scoring for fun. So should have played in his usual position. If Salech was fit he wouldn't have been moved wide to try and fit Rubin, Joel and Robertson into midfield

Totally agree Ned. Those Lincoln CB's would have made mince meat out of him, he wouldn't have had a sniff of the ball today.

We missed Kellyman up front and Tanner on the right. Simple!

BBM has to take the blame for this.

Spot on mate. A massive error knowing that Salech would be out for a fair stretch and the fact we have no other target striker at the club.

Or Tan wouldn't back him to get a decent replacement

Exactly.

We can argue about whether or not a striker should have been brought in (I think the right decision was made) but Salech would have got nothing today.

We’ll never know but it would have given the wingers another option to cross.

Re: Missed salach

Sat Mar 07, 2026 5:38 pm

The fact we didn't bring in a salech like replacement was always gonna bite us on the ass in games like Plymouth and today and I really hope it isn't the reason we fail to finish top 2 as it would be criminal

Having a plan b for when things are not working out is crucial and we don't have an answer to big physical teams and it's become a minor problem

How do you know he wouldn't have got anything? Salech is a big lump, our top scorer and a threat in front of goal. He scored at Stockport and they had two big centre backs.

Re: Missed salach

Sat Mar 07, 2026 5:45 pm

Yeah I think the Lincoln CBs. would have given Salech nothing today. The problem was that the best chance we would have had scoring was by Kellyman running their CBs ragged, but being out on the wing in the first half, he rarely got sight of the ball. Only one occasion he got sight of the goal his shot was off target. Second half he was pushed more into the middle but then taken off. He couldn't have been knackered as he rarely got much of the ball. They were just a very well drilled unit who run through brick walls and went direct every time until we made mistakes and then they got 2 counter attack goals which they took well. I can now understand why we were disliked at the way we played under Warnock.

Freak accident in a 50/50 challenge and received a nasty injury. You need an early night!

And you need to wake up to modern football.

We were just stifled today, that's all.

We'll move on and still get promoted.

Bet you didn't think we missed Salech at Doncaster.

Ha ha the irony when we were playing against a team today who play the opposite to modern day football. I've enjoyed the football since Salech has been out but for you to say he wouldn't have had a sniff today when it was obvious we needed a presence in the box is ridiculous. You're talking about our top scorer with biggest physical attributes.

I said he'd give away 5 fouls. You know how he's treated against physical teams and you know League One referees.

Spot on

Funny how the only time in the last 8 games that we get "we missed Salech" posts is the only 2 games we lost. These posters have been a bit quiet during the other games where we've been scoring for fun.

Since Salech has been injured we've scored 22 goals in 8 games so the answer is clear, we have not missed him.
