As the heading suggests, not a great day all round.
Started off with tailbacks and gridlock on the A4232 due to a broken down vehicle recover near the Leckwith Stadium junction, turned a 45min journey into an hour plus.
Get to the stadium and as we come off the roundabout behind Greggs see a gentleman stagger sideways head first into the wall and slump.
In fairness several people approached him and tried to help, 1 ran for a medic, I managed to get to the mini roundabout and shout at a steward for a medic. Park the car and lock up, walk to the zebra crossing to let them know I’ve sent a steward to get a medic and see one of the lads performing CPR.
A few of the suits came over to see what was happening plus a young lass from the Events TeamC she was frantic on the phone saying she wanted pitch side medics outside and they didn’t seem to be listening, I calmed her down and said repeat the following…. “We have fans performing CPR, we need the Defib”…. That’s when staff came running from everywhere.
My main priority was keeping the traffic moving and clearing the area for the ambulance. We worked as a team and got the area cleared whilst pitch side medics and St John’s took over care of the gentleman. In total we ended up with 5 medical units on scene and air ambulance on route.
The football today, even though was disappointing, became 2nd fiddle to prior events.
Every fan deserves to go home. Just hope this gent does too

I heard about that bloke.
More important than anything, I hope he comes through and recovers.

It was a gent, I was the one in the blue hoodie stood on the zebra crossing keeping the area clear for the vehicles.
Really worrying time, puts football into perspective
