Referee rating - marks out of ten

Sat Mar 07, 2026 2:46 pm

I thought he was poor for both teams, his performance had no impact on the result though.

For some reason gave the ball back to them twice after an injury break, even though we had the ball.

Also only booked their player for diving after Canton told him to.

He actually got the giving the ball back to Lincoln calls correct. The rules are just stupid. You should be able to fall over after heading a free kick to get an uncontested drop ball

Gone for 7 today, didn’t exactly stand out as previous refs have done, few dodgy decisions, called the offside and diving 100% which improves his score from a 5. Not the best we’ve seen but definitely no where near the worst. The occasion seemed to dominate him and his officials, back to reffing infront of 8k next week

I thought that was only if the ball was in the box when play was stopped & it wasn't. We had the ball in the middle of their half well outside the area when the whistle was blown to stop the play. If that is the correct call then it needs to change or we need to teach our players to fall over holding their heads whenever the opposition looks in a dangerous position.

Its the rule if a player has a head injury and the ball is still in the box the keeper gets the drop ball. Silly rule as players milk it.

I thought he was one of the best refs this season.

It's a loophole that needs closing badly. The whole head injury rules are crap. Robertson had to leave the field near the end of the game despite bouncing straight back up

Correct but as has been said, the ball wasn't in the box.

I think you're correct the ball was out of the area so we should have had the ball. The rule is if ball still In the box keeper has it.
A rule that can be taken advantage of.
