Wrong decision on the Wings by BBM

Sat Mar 07, 2026 2:19 pm

BBM changing the wingers lost us this game.

Tanners been in the form of his life on the right, with willock on the left.

Massive mistake to put tanner on the left and drop willock.

We will still go up, and BBM still the best manager we’ve had in years, but hopefully he's learnt a lesson here.

The game turned on errors. Not on this. We also missed Salech today,

Playing players out of their best position will increase the chance of errors.

We’ve been fine without Salech.

Just my opinion, but the wingers been messed with lost us this game.

We don’t miss salach, we played our best football with him and Rubin out of contention. We lost today because of some crazy love on with Rubin. Moving the whole team around to fit him and his pedestrian movement and backwards passing in.

We still go up comfortably, but Rubin be fit (by his standards anyway) may cost us the title. Is he Tans secret love child??

I thought Rubin was poor today. It just seems when he plays and then plays badly he slows the whole game up and we lose shape

I think we just beat pep’s record for the amount of central midfielders you can select in one game. They all got in each others way

We don't miss Salech. What game we're you watching?
It was physical.
Where were NG & Chambers?
I think Trott is dodgy

Totally agree with you mate. BBM has worked wonders this season but I think he got it wrong today.

I've given credit to Lincoln on other threads, but it was very obvious that Tanner was uncomfortable on the opposite side to where he normally plays.

We also know that Kellyman is much better as a ten or striker than a winger.

BBM has loads of credit in the bank but strange decisions.

Feels like he was trying to fit Rubin, Kellyman, Joel, Tanner and Robertson all into the team but it didn't work.

Ng arrived at the ground sick & got sent home.

Yes it was physical today, exactly why we didn't miss Salech. Lincoln's CB's would have dominated him all over the pitch.

What salach have you been watching all season, he mostly gets dominated and out muscled.

I thought bbm got it wrong today tanner has been better on the right maybe Ashford or willock on left Omari as a false 9 has been working so why he changed I don't know but he hasn't got many things wrong this season

Exactly how i see it.

We have every right to question some of BBM's decisions, but he is also human, makes mistakes, but with loads of credit in the bank

Totally agree Kellyman and Tanner have been on fire. If you absolutely must play Rubin he should have been out on the left. The substitutions were also poor. Joel Colwill was having a good game

It does seem like the wrong decisions were made, to ensure Rubin got a start.

Lesson learnt we move on and don’t make the same mistake again…hopefully.

Bolton are 2-0 down so not all is lost.

Joel being sub'd joined a long list of stange decision from the manager

Salech has scored 12 this season. Could have been on 20 if not for the Stockport thug
n the big games Colwill R & Kellyman a are like a couple of fairies

I disagree, for his size he’s lightweight he wouldn’t have been injured if he had a bit more physicality about him.

If we'd have had Salech today, the only difference is that Lincoln would have had five more free kicks.

:laughing5:

Salech should have been on 20 plus goals before the Stockport game but he's missed a hat full of easy chances.

Before today's game we scored 22 goals in 7 games since Salech was injured and apart from the Plymouth game we've been outstanding.

Completely disagree. They would have actually had to defend crosses instead they knew full well we would just shuffle the ball sideways looking for a shot

They expected us to play like that. If we decided to change our game today, sit back, concede possession , and invite pressure, I really don’t think they would have had the beans to do it. Football is a funny old game.
