Half time thoughts

Quite cagey.

Lincoln seem to be playing for set pieces but we're handling them well. We left three up at corners which was interesting.

A few long distance shots from us saved.

But no big chances for either team, we're playing the better football.

Feel we'll step it up in the second half.

Tanner looks lost on the left. His game is far more coming inside and being overlapped. Think the subs will be crucial. Can see Willock and ashford coming after the hour mark. Willock, ashford and Robinson could be crucial coming on in this second half. They look dangerous from set pieces

Need the same discipline in the 2nd half.

There are a few Lincoln players leaving feet in on tackles and looking for a rise from the city players.

House facing up to Wintle when HE had committed the foul and was all over Wintle when getting up. Wintle handled it well.

As you might expect from the best attacking team playing the best defensive team it's 0-0 at half time with Cardiff at 72.5% possession. 2 shots on target out of 5 for us & 0 on target out of 6 shots for Lincoln.

I was impressed with Lincoln first 20mins or so they forced us into their long ball game but I think we finished stronger

That dive was an embarrassment to football

Our refusal to take ownership, have a crack and shoot is a mystery.
Trott looking nervous. Has miss punched multiple crosses and failed to clear properly.
Tanner is on the wrong wing and Amari needs to be more central to have an impact.
Hoping for Lawlor to come on for Fish second half and for us to be more direct.

Tempo too slow, Ruben playing far to deep. Would prefer Kellyman upfront.

We need to score first. They've come here with a plan to get one and defend it. That will be hard for us. If they have to open up going behind we will pick them off.

Turgid game,they are doing a job on us so far.
If we can get 1 I feel we will get a few more.

Too much tinkering Tanner and kellyman not in their best positions.

Just looking back at this thread and it seems you hit the nail on the head. That first goal was massive.
