STADIUM EXPANSION AT CARDIFF CITY STADIUM?

Football Association Of Wales Are Keen To Expand The Cardiff City Stadium From 33,000 to 45,000 Seater Stadium.


My Opinion:
Terrible idea for Cardiff City FC but great for welsh football. We can't even get close to selling out games for club level. For the welsh international games it would be selling out but is it worth destroying the atmosphere for Cardiff City games for a handful throughout a year? I don't think so. Plus who will pay for it? Tan? Welsh Government? I don't think so.

I missed when the red seated stand was not there because the noise in the stadium was incredible. since the red seats came along it has not been the same since.

TBH, I dont think we would fill every Wales game with 45k

I can't see the Welsh FA paying for it. Any quotes detailing the cist and backer.
Would be nice to extend the away end and move the Canton Stand there

Agreed. It’s never going to happen. Neither FAW nor we would fund such an expensive expansion. It isn’t worth it for the handful of Wales games we get, and we wouldn’t come close to filling it even if we reached the Premier League.

I like the idea of an extra tier on each end of the stadium.

But it would only make sense when/if we're consolidated in the Premier League.

Unless that happens, it's not needed. Certainly not worth doing just for the odd Wales match where there's high demand. I doubt 45k would go and watch Wales v Finland.
