FAMILY STAND ?

Tue Mar 03, 2026 1:16 pm

Why don' t we reduce the size for families to half and fill it with adults,
all season we have not even filled half it ,time for a dramatic change to this so called famy stand.

The reason I reckon is that the club don’t want just adults close to the away fans

I have said on other post about "Wayne Nash hace a day off"
and the biggest segregation in the football league and at other stadiums we have 1 line of stewards and that's in the championship .

The whole family stand should be moved up to the red seats, it’s a much better view for the kids for starters. I had enough of taking them and being stuck next to away fans staring and shouting all sorts….make the current family stand like the canton. :bluescarf:

Or make it an away stand and fill the corner up as and when we need it. We don't need a family stand, it's hardly like the ninian stand is wild these days

A good idea that, as there are not many, and half are not bothered about the football from the kids i have seen which are moving over to were I sit between canton and ninian shouting there heads off but not about the football.

Agree, the whole stand doesn't need to be the family section. Just make it a couple of blocks.

Because it's always the family stand which is mostly empty.

Agree it’s great for opposition banter and will make a good atmosphere but on another note the canton is very well attended and we 99% attack it second half where on many occasions the crowd seem to suck the ball in to the goal when desperate.
The Canton when full is a thing of beauty :bluescarf:

Swings and roundabouts :banghead:

i would love it if the family stand got replaced with away fans then you get the atmosphere. 1 side of the stadium to the other.
can't really put them (family stand crowd) in red seats due to safety probably. that is what the club will say.
pity

It is ridiculous and does suck the soul out of the stadium

Rangers v Celtic-1 line of stewards
Man U v Leeds - 1 line of Stewards
Pompey v Saints - 1 line of Stewards
Wolves v Villa - 1 line of stewards
Cardiff v Lincoln - Wider than an Iranian Tank Trap

And we never have an explanation action as to why we are the only team in the UK with this segregation.

I don't think a family stand is required.
We should use that area for our own fans, allowing for adequate segregation.
Keep up to 3,000 seats in the current corner for away fans.
After all, it is our ground.
Judging by the sale for this massive match on Saturday, there are still loads of unsold seats in that section, while the rest of the stadium blue seats are almost sold out.
Also, from my observations at times this season, a percentage of the parents or adults accompanying children in that family stand are often full of verbal obscenities themselves.
Plenty of kids usually enjoying matches in all parts of the ground anyway.
Finally, I think we should allow school age kids in for a small nominal fee (eg £1.00), unless we return to the Premiership.
