Annis, it was a very poor game in absolutely dreadful conditions. The pitch was more suited to water polo than football.
We had no real strength up top, but to be fair the service into them was practically non-existent. That just played straight into Swansea’s hands – they could sit in and pick us off on the break whenever they fancied it.
A few of the lads who looked promising when they stepped up from the U18s to the U21s have, in my opinion, gone backwards a bit. Manny Barton and Dan Ola in particular. The talent is there, we’ve seen it, but for whatever reason it’s just not showing at the moment.
On the positive side, the centre-back pairing of Kingdom and Debono looks a very promising one for the future. I thought Debono was man of the match last night – solid, composed, and dealt with the conditions as well as anyone.
And a word for the referee – in my opinion the best we’ve had this season. He kept the game moving and showed a bit of common sense given how tough it was out there. Even the commentators mentioned it.

Thanks Ron,

Much appreciated your feedback.

I have heard good reports about Debono and Kingdom, more Debono.

I have not heard though of good reports regarding this current crop of players and most will be moved out, Purse should join them

On the plus side the U16’s downwards I’m hearing fantastic reports and seen videos :bluebird:
