BBM: Kellyman has to understand responsibilities to the team

Thu Feb 26, 2026 12:00 pm

BBM:

"Omari Kellyman is doing fine.

He has to understand his responsibilities to the team and how he defends from the front.

His goal last week gets a lot of attention because it was right in the top corner. But he has to remember who started that move, it was a pass from Nathan Trott.

When we're analysing our defensive play, we always look at our forward players. How Yousef presses, how Robinson presses.

Omari has to improve all aspects of his game to give himself a chance of playing in the team, which he's doing.

The most exciting thing about him is he has so much room for improvement and he wants to do that."

He's improved him massively, but you can see defensively, he wants to help him improve even further.

What was the reason he was not in the sqaud?

It was a dog of a rugby pitch, probably not one for a player with such quick feet

That does make it sound like he was left out for not pressing enough last week

It wasn't a pitch for fancy Dans, but I was surprised by BBM comments.

Surely he was not dropped after the way he has been playing. He must have been ill.

BBM sure made it seem like he was dropped. Could be for attitude? I can see why if you've scored 2 and are being told your not working hard enough, he did do this with Robertson and Turnbull early in the year. Maybe it's his way of saying that Plymouth wasn't good enough and anyone can be dropped

He travelled with the squad so may have picked up a knock rather than it being a punishment.

Then again, could have been a punishment to make him watch the team play without him involved.

Found the bit where he says Kellyman has to remember the move for one of his goals started with Trott interesting.

I wonder if he was left out altogether so as not to risk him getting injured as we will definitely need him next week against Lincoln, as BBM thought we would have enough to beat Doncaster today. It's doubtful that Salech will play much of the game next week if at all.

We have a small squad and it looks to me like he rests 2 to 3 players every week to try and keep them fresh . Also noticed when we pick up a yellow card he tends to substitute them off not long after .

Re Omari Kellyman’s omission, it’s certainly a question to ask; but the (current) responses are speculation and that’s all! :ayatollah:
