" Injury update on Salech, Osho and Davies "

Thu Feb 19, 2026 11:00 am

BBM:

"We anticipate both Osho and Davies will train this morning.

In the case of Osho, it should be pretty straightforward. Isaak less so, just going to see how he reacts to his first exposure to the team and take it from there.

Yousef Salech saw the specialist last Monday who gave him some more detail to what extent he can and can't do things.

He's back on the pitch today doing some running. We'll see how he progresses from there before re-entering training with the team. So step by step getting there, but still not keen to put any timescales because of what he's been through and what he's likely to experience when he returns to playing.

He's in really positive spirits. He was at the game on Saturday. Also on Tuesday but I sent him home before the end of the game because I didn't think it was beneficial for him to be at the stadium for the whole of Tuesday night.

If the running goes well today and tomorrow, into next week then things can progress pretty quickly. For now, it's taking things step by step and not putting any time estimates on when he can return."

Fantastic news, was expecting Salech to be out for another 6 weeks.
We have such a strong squad, we definitely have best starting 11 and subs bench.

I think a lot of salec's injury is physiological i jad a bad neck injury as a decorator and it took me 6/8weeks to get back to work and the worry that you are going to damage it all over again is hard to get past
same I imagine as a broken leg in football, and playing your first game back going into a 50/50 tackle once you overcome the initial it gets better but I am sure he has all the support around him,
i sadly did' nt so had to overcome the fear of something happening all over again.

I've always stated Salech is our best forward but I have enjoyed the football more since he has been out. We are less predictable and more of a threat going forward. We play less side to side and just cut sides open.

Good point this is Chris , probably both injury and psychological, great to hear he’s back running :bluebird:
