"Yousef was here today, but he hasn't rejoined the team for training yet, until he does that we won't really have a time scale.”
"With an injury of that nature you have to be really patient to make sure his neck and surrounding areas are ready.
"At the moment he's not ready and their is no time at all.”
Cardiff City head coach Brian Barry-Murphy says top scorer Yousef Salech is "not close" to a return from injury, he’s still unable to Train.

I was told two to three months. A friend knows Salech and this is what he told him.

The folly of Tan not utilising the extensive scouted list of available strikers who would happily come to Cardiff and be better than what we have left is going to cost us promotion.

Upward and onward , lets score more goals from open play or outside the box ,rather than the predictable big man up front .
Div 1 defender's are skilled at marking big forwards in the box ,what they are not so good at is defending pace ,interplay outside or in the penalty box.
As wise old Tan rightly says ,shoot, shoot, shoot .

That's how I see it m8 luckily our goals are spread out through the team and we don't have to rely on one player!!!

Let's hope Kellyman stays fit then. We've played some lovely football recently with him upfront.
Not sure Robinson is the answer, he's more of an impact sub.

Good news is we've coped relatively so far and have players back in other positions, like Rubin and Lawlor.

Not good news for the lad, but we have done ok without him so far. We seem to be far quicker as well.

Really enjoyed last two games. Rotherham or Luton couldn't cope with our movement.

Not good news for Yousef but 12 goals in 4 matches without him suggests it’s not too much of a problem. And with goals coming from all over the team up we go
Tue Feb 17, 2026 12:31 pm
Considering we aren’t even looking to play our other recognised striker then I don’t think we need to worry much at the moment. Kellyman is playing brilliantly. Isaac won’t be far off with concussion. Robbo is still a good player and knows where the goal is. I suspect Rubin can play a false 9 if needed as well

We will be fine with Kellyman up front, but Tan failing to back us to bring in the extra striker we desperately needed could cost us. Robinson is only an impact sub now and we have no other strikers who are at the required level to start a game.

Got a list of strikers who were available who could have made a difference who wouldn’t want to be second fiddle when Salech came back??
I suggested Tom Bradshaw who has already scored for Barnsley. He would have been available on loan. But I guess he wants to play rather than sit on the bench.

This should and could have been anticipated before the transfer window closed.
Yes, the crop of players we have are currently doing the business, but further injuries and suspensions are always likely at the climax of the season.
I would like to have seen an experienced striker join the squad as cover.
I don't see Robinson as the central striker required and obviously, neither does BBM.
Hopefully, we will see Salech return before the season is out, but it could take him the usual half a dozen games to return to match fitness and that indeed will be very late on.

I would of liked us to try and hijack bradfords move for ethan Wheatley on loan, I thought he gave us problems in the away game at Northampton, big strong direct and would have been ideal

I can’t see him coming back this season , hope he comes back bouncing next season and raring to go hopefully in the championship.
Kellyman is playing superb but god help us if he gets injured , great stats the last 3 games , let’s keep going stronger

I've got a suspicion that he'll be back sooner than expected. Not tonight or Saturday, but in the near future.
Because remember in his press conference last Thursday, BBM made it sound like Rubin wasn't ready to be in the squad but then he brought him off the bench which surprised us all.

We are doing better without him though?

Exactly, he keeps us, the media and especially other teams guessing.
All he's really said is he's not ready today, and I'm not giving you a date, which also helps with not having to answer the same question every week from now on.

We have two players for every position. All can slip in and know the system and their place in the system. It’s seamless.
BBM is happy with that.
You wanted to get players just in case both players in each position get injured?

I was getting the post in for the anti anything Tan does.

Not at all what I am saying at all.
During the transfer window, Salech was injured with what appeared to be a knock that would keep him out for a number of weeks.
We don't appear to have another 'target striker' style of centre forward at the club.
We either rely on Robinson or use a 'false' centre forward such as Kellyman.
I made no reference to other positions, although I'm glad we now have cover for left back as Kpakio is not the answer!

Right about Kpakio.
We are winning and scoring without Salech. I think Bradshaw might have been an option on loan but didn’t know any other strikers knocking about. Maybe they tried.

I was concerned when Tanner got crocked so early in the season, everyone stepped up. Even more so when Colwill got injured. Everyone stepped up. When Salech went down, I along with everyone else could see it was a bad one, I was more concerned than ever. We've scored 17 goals since that terrible challenge, most of them without a recognised striker on the pitch. I've never had more trust in a manager, and in my opinion, which is only my opinion, in the 27 years I've watched them, never seen as good football being played. Obviously it's against a lower standard of opposition, but it's still the best football I've seen. We're dangerous even with 10 men. In BBM we trust.
