Jack Wilshere:
After losing 3-1 to Cardiff today:
“We have quality in there but away from home we need something else.“
A few days ago Jack Wilshere:
“Our attacking line up and all round team are better than Cardiff City, We are currently in a false position.”

No point having quality when you've got a shit manager who can't make the most of it.
Short arsed sicknote.

Doesn't interview well. Not the brightest. He'll be gone by the end of the season.

How about 9-10 of the Cardiff players.

He obviously believed what he said last week because they went toe to toe with us in the first half.
It doesn't end well this season for teams who come to CCS and play like that, today was no different and why he had to change their approach in the second half.
That's why most teams sit back at CCS.

Trott could have read todays football program from back to front, whilst sitting against the post, without looking up today to see what was happening on the pitch.

Strange how people see things differently. I thought in the first half they were too tippy tappy and sideways playing it out from the back and our high press paid dividends. Second half, yes Luton did change but they pressed us higher up the pitch, and forced errors from us, and our passing game went to bits a bit, and our fluidity from the first half dissipated.
Having said that, I do think we took our foot off the gas and played within ourselves in the 2nd half, and could have stepped up a couple of gears if we needed to.

I completely agree with worcester nobody has come to us and gone toe to toe and come out well, with the exception of Bradford. I thought it was some sort of mind game he was trying to play and when the match started Luton would play some sort of low block and hope for the best. High press doesn't work on us it's BBMs dream scenario, we just cut teams to bits

Oh absolutely! I wasnt disagreeing with Worcester. Looking at his comments made me realise that I had the tone of the game all wrong. Hence my comment about seeing things differently. Looking back now, after reading Worcesters comments I can see how Luton started thinking they could outplay us, and they came unstuck. 2nd half they did push higher up the pitch, and had a lot more of the ball, and won more 50/50s and I was constantly on the edge of my seat with worry at the time, but as I say, City were playing within themselves and were always capable of shifting into overdrive if required.

BBM retired 10 years ago in an era when all the Wilshere being the English Pirlo was in full swing. In that time, he studied and practiced this system or its variants. The arrogance of young managers not versed in coaching it (not playing in it with all your God-given skills because it is very different) is bewildering!
It reminded me of the Rambo/Chambers bringing the Arsenal way with Bulut/Riza; we were relegated.
It's a lot more difficult than it looks, and you need the basic ingredients. BBM, who is very close to the U21's scene, knew most of our players, so he knew he could do his thing. Let's be honest, we are all surprised by what he has achieved.
Luton looked like a biggish team with good physical specimens; they never looked comfortable playing the "modern" way. They should have got a Nathan Jones (I know), Neil Harris-type if they wanted an instant return, or accept it's going to take some surgery.
IMO, Wilshire is another pretender relying on his name.
