BBM:
“I’m over the moon with the performance. We started the game with great intensity, created good chances and scored enough of them to win the game.
“There’s been different parts of the season that stick out, but against a team of this calibre we knew we had to be at our best and really pleasingly we were.
“In a strange way, when they got the penalty it felt as if it was their first attack into our box We speak a lot about what it’s like to play for Cardiff and what that looks like, so the players’ response to that and their push to attack was excellent.
“Even in the second half, it didn’t go as we would have wanted to because Luton have such quality, but we gave them nothing in terms of momentum or attempts on goal. That was as pleasing as anything about the performance today.
“Turnbull had a really good game. He’s had to wait to get back into the team but it’s an important sign of our squad that he’s ready to perform when he comes back in.
“Joel Colwill’s game is improving so much, he has such a hunger to improve. The parts of his game we feel are important to give him the outcomes that he got today are the bits he has been working on.
“He arrives in the box all the time and because of that he has to have the ability to make the correct decision, and he has the technical ability to make it happen like he did today.
“Perry Ng injured his knee on the first day of pre-season and Ronan Kpakio has been doing exceptionally well in his absence
“It is a concern of mine that I haven’t been able to play Ronan as much as I would have liked to because of the form of Perry, but that’s the stage of the season we’re in.
“Perry is capable of producing a finish like he did today – so I’m told from previous seasons – so I’m glad to see it in the flesh. I thought there was a pass on to Ollie Tanner, luckily he listened to the supporters and shot.
“I consider myself very lucky to be working with a dressing room so keen to improve. We see so much potential to improve as well.
“There are parts of the second half that wouldn’t have been as we wanted, but more than that, on a daily basis, the players train at such a high standard because of how hungry they are to improve and how much they have to improve to play.
“That competition within the squad is the key element of how we work. That has to remain to take the squad where we want to go.
“We have a pretty clear identity as a club now. There is a real belief in how we want to play. All the players have bought into that.”

Do we credit the board for the recruitment process and his appointment then? The board rightly deserve criticism for recent seasons and relegation but on this they've got it right, so far.

I’ll credit whoever was responsible for bringing him to the club 100%

The board deserve credit for the appointment even though I'm of the view it's a monkeys and typewriters situation

It’s looking more and more likely that this could be a very special group and all this from BBMs player management skills , If everyone stays loyal to this club then this could be a very exciting next few years to look forward too

He is a professor of football......Jesus, we are lucky, but it's strange, I think science is more important than the result to him. Saturday or Tuesdays are just the result of the experiment.
He is building a dynasty. I can see him being ruthless in the summer, but then helping the players deemed surplus find the right club for them.
The first half was a system win. The players just enact the plan, even without some of the players of this season. Its crazy the stuff we watch now. It still scares the pants off me. But wow, its just wow!!!

What I admire most is the way he's improved virtually every player and fostered a real sense of togetherness in the squad.
Even when there were problems earlier in the season with both Turnbull and Robertson he's managed to deal with them extremely well and integrated both to become important members of the squad whereas other managers may have let them rot in the reserves or sold them in January.
He's clearly a very good man manager.

Sorry not for me.
There is no way this board made the decision to appoint BBM based on his potential as an up and coming manager.
Remember he wasn't their first choice and how they tried to poach Nathan Jones.
No, the only reason they employed BBM was that he was willing to work with a miniscule transfer budget and was happy to play the youngsters.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day and the board got extremely lucky when appointing BBM.
Let's be honest - there's only one visionary at the club and it's the manager, not the clueless owner or his nodding dog chumps in the boardroom.
They lucked out.

Of course, we have too. They've got most appointments wrong, but took a very long time to make this excellent appointment and saved a fortune on player signings in the process. They've just used the kids from our superb academy, which has also been a great success.

Unbelievable, we've had Tanner out, Robertson, Colwill, Salech, Lawlor, now Wintle and the rest, and we haven't even noticed?
The new player comes in, and if anything, we look better?

Agree, of course we have to give credit where credit is due. The board appointed advisors to process and advise on the manager appointment so you’re right.
And also posters constantly moaning about the academy of the last few years have been proved wrong.

And NG, out for a while too, I forgot about him! We now have Tanner back in, NG, Robertson, Turnbull, and Lawlor, Colwill and Salech to try and slot back in. The signings, Trott, Kellyman and even Osho is starting to make a massive impact too.

Regarding the academy I think people put far too much stock in results. Your not ever going to produce more than a handful of players at a time, more than half of those boys aren't anywhere near making it, they are future Welsh league players. Unless your there day to day it's very difficult to see how good or bad a job is being done there

It sounds like the players are mad to learn but they can only do that if the teacher has their back

Absolutely have to agree with you, they struck it lucky and so have we as fans, just hope we are able to fend off other clubs who will try and poach him.
