Updated - Forest sack Sean Dyche and appoint replacement

Thu Feb 12, 2026 1:05 am

Vitor Pereira, who was sacked by Wolves earlier this season, has been appointed Nottingham Forest manager

Updated

Sean Dyche has been sacked by Nottingham Forest following Wednesday night's 0-0 draw at home to Wolves.

The result leaves Forest in 17th place in the Premier League - three points above West Ham, who occupy the final relegation place.

Dyche, who was appointed in October, was the club's third manager this season after Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglu were also sacked earlier in the season.

No big surprise. The Forest owner is trigger happy and needs to apportion blame! :(

Under current recruitment rules, maybe a fit for Tottenham? :? :laughing6:

Football is becoming more of a laughing stock by the day with managers getting four weeks to three to four months these days. What the feck are they suppose to do win a cup in that time then again Tottenham done that. Pathetic it is how is a manager if that's what they actually are supposed to stamp anything on his own team and future visions for any club in the time they are given from these crazy people above

I can see why they've done it in fairness. If you put that fact that they've already sacked 2 managers this season aside for a moment. They are perilously close to the relegation places and Nuno appears to have gone West hamming ticking and are on a good run of form. The teams around them are effectively battling it out for the last relegation place as I think Wolves and Burnely are pretty much done for.
They probably feel that they need to make the change now to give themselves the best chance of staying up.
Something we should have done last season and not waited to long to get rid of Riza lol

I don't think there's a better manager for a relegation fight than Dyche though. He would pick up enough results to keep them up. But their owner is mad.

They had 35 shots last night, not Dyche's fault that they couldn't finish them.

FORREST AGREE NEW MANAGER DEAL

Thu Feb 12, 2026 3:02 pm

Vitor Pereira agrees to replace Dyche as new Forest boss
Sky Sports

Vitor Pereira has agreed to become the next Nottingham Forest head coach.

Final details of the deal are still being sorted but it is almost certain the former Wolves boss will take over at the City Ground.
Wolves have been contacted as part of the protocol following his sacking earlier this season.

Pereira saved Wolves from relegation last season but a 10-game winless start in the league this season saw him lose his job.
He is set to become Forest's fourth permanent head coach this season.

Forest were keen to move quickly to find a replacement for Sean Dyche ahead of next Thursday's crucial Europa League knockout play-off first leg away to Fenerbahce.

Pereira was previously employed by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at Olympiacos. He won the league and cup double with the Greek side in 2015.
