Ollie Tanner

From the guy who was supposed to be the next bright light of English football, to being loaned out and dropped by Non League York, I believe Ollie Tanners progress over the last 24 months has been nothing short of outstanding.

The guy has turned into and can now be credibly called a talent who could now be seen as a huge asset and one that will attract attention elsewhere.

He has built up fitness that, some say he struggled with when he first joined. Last season his defensive duties as a winger improved significantly and his physicality in the game had clearly improved.

This season, and, specifically at Rotherham last week, (and the reason for me penning this thread) was his understanding of the game and his role. In a 10 man team, he knew when to press, when to sit off. When he pressed he did so at pace.

As a winger he turns both inside and outside, his use of both feet has improved.

I was never critical of him, just didnt think he'd make it. I believe his strength is proving people wrong and long may that continue.

He may never be a Prem player, but he will attract interest for the remainder of his career if he keeps up his attitude.

Finally, he seems Cardiff through and through. Talks the talk and is a wind up merchant to opposing fans and first to get stuck in to help team mates when there are handbags on the pitch.

An important part of our squad is Ollie.

Jonny I’ve been thinking the same
Been noticing when he is playing there is such a extra strength on tha wing , he has to be one of the most improved players of late ,
But also we could say that with nearly all the players ,BBM is a masterclass at getting the best out of these players , which shows he is a top manager
