Will Spiers rejoins Merthyr Town

Updated:

“ 34 PLAYERS GONE SO FAR / 7 IN SO FAR SINCE JUNE 2025 “

MASSIVE SAVINGS AND ALL PLAYERS THAT STAYED ON AFTER LAST SEASONS RELEGATION HAD IN THEIR CONTRACT WAGES WERE IMMEDIATELY CUT IN HALF.

So with Crowds averaging Over 19,000 in this League and many with live Sky matches / No way should we be losing money as we also Sold players.

BUT Don’t forget Chairman Dalman Charges “Cardiff City” £3.8 MILLION IN INTEREST EVERY YEAR FOR LENDING MONEY TO OUR CLUB:

Will Spiers has joined National League North side Merthyr Town on a youth loan until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Will Spears aged 20

The defender, who joined the Academy at the age of seven, made his First Team debut earlier this season in a Vertu Trophy fixture against Newport County, scoring against Arsenal U21 in his second appearance.

With the deal being a youth loan, Will remains eligible to feature in non-First Team fixtures for the Bluebirds.

Will joins the National League North side for a second loan spell this season, having made 12 league appearances for the Martyrs during his first stint with the club.

The amount of players we have got rid, just shows how much Dead Wood we were once again carrying and we say the same year after abd hopefully it has come to an end.

We have got to stop signing players like Kion Etete and giving New Contracts to players like Etete and Kieron Evans not just saying them as their are many more like them, they are just recently.

Which is exactly why we handled the last two transfer windows the way we did and why it was right.

We didn't stockpile the squad like in the past.

Got it spot on.

16 YEARS LATER:

But I do believe if backed BBM would have brought in a couple of more quality players.

But well done to BBM so far, absolutely brilliant.

The board try and keep the finances as secretive as they can, whilst treating the fans like idiots.

The figures above re players and the crowds figures speak for themselves. Yes we may have lost revenue due to being in League One, but The Dictator has, for only the 2nd or third time, struck lucky.

1. He got Murphy ( on the cheap and very late in the day) who has performed superbly. Hats off to you Brian

2. We have had very few injuries and even less have been long term.

Had we got anyone else, and had had an injury crisis who knows where we might have been.

Tan is, I believe, one more error, mistake, or palpable lack of investment away from being runout of town by the supporters. Right now he has tokeep his fingers crossed that his luck doesnt run out.

For everything said above, the manager, coachinf staff and players have performed magnificently in spite of Tan rather than because of him.

I'm not fan of Tan or the way he runs the club.

But I believe the last two windows have been done perfectly because BBM wants a smaller squad in this league. So every player knows they can get a chance to play.

That's part of the reason we are in a good position in the league.

Absolutely Jonny and I agree with everything.

By the way BBM found us and applied to us and because he was willing to manage with NO money and knew our younger players do well this suited Tan and thankfully has so far turned out well.

Let’s hope No more injuries or suspensions

Annis I am very optimistic that we will have new owners next season , god help us if we don’t .
Would be a very big gamble for tan to stay longer

Let's hope the south africans are still in the wings ww will need to spend if promoted,
and agree with richy, tan does not want to pile in money,
but does not want to be relegated again either so sell sell sell
