Kellyman as a striker

Sun Feb 08, 2026 10:52 am

In the 2 games that omari as played up top he has looked a completely different player, imo he is better than salech at that role and if he played there all season he would have more goals than salech, willock is also a better player when kellyman is up top.

Dont really understand why bbm changed it after the Barnsley game on the back of the best performance of the season.

However yesterday topped that and we look a more complete team with that system. Big shout out to Joel colwill for his performance yesterday and also the centre backs who both had a great game. Robertson also stepped up when wintle was wrongly sent off has he hardly touched him.

Up the city we look like we are definitely getting promoted however be nice if we can shake off Lincoln and win the league as we have been to pmost of the season. Credit to Lincoln though for sticking with us.

He was brilliant. Much more mobile than Salech, very different players mind.

He presses much more effectively than Salech. It’s lovely to have options. Three games since losing our top scorer and we have scored 9 goals!!!!

He's been exceptional up front.

I'm not sure I'd say he's a centre forward, certainly not in the way that Salech is and we're not going to.score many headers from crosses into the box with our current front line but with Tanner and Willock looking to play the ball low and hard from the wings it's posing a real threat with Kellyman's ability.

If we do get promoted we really need to try to sign Kellyman on a permanent deal. He's not going to be in Chelsea's first team squad so even if he costs £3m or £4m Tan should blow the dust and cobwebs off his wallet and cough up.

Agreed, he’s a game changer.

Kellyman is class and way above everyone in league 1. We have played him twice as a striker and both times won and played our best football. I would have added that we should have played him at this position at Burton but I don't want to be shot down again when I said Colwell should have continued to play in midfield.

Does anyone know how FFP works?

My understanding is Chelsea and Villa gamed the FFP rules by each buying a U21 from each other for £20 mill thus offsetting their deficit by £20 mill as it's classed as pure profit. If they make a £15 million loss on him, does that count against them?

Not sure but It would be amazing if somehow we could sign him.
For me it's him and Trott that have been our best signings this season

I think there is an option to buy Trott though, or have I got that wrong ?
