" A brilliant performance "

Sat Feb 07, 2026 5:01 pm

I was really worried after the early red card. I thought it was going to be backs against the wall for 70 minutes and just trying to grab a point.

How wrong I was because even with the red card, we were the better team by far.

It was a brilliant performance and arguably one of our best due to the circumstances.

Kellyman my MOTM because his work rate was phenomenal. Involved in both of the first two goals.

But all of them were excellent.

A great result that the performance deserved.

Outstanding. Cant ever recall seeing City win when down to ten in the first half? How bad are Rotherham though. Losing by three goals at home against ten men, oh dear. I criticised Osho at half time but he was great today.

This time last year many were posting that the players should be ashamed at their total lack of fight, and should be embarrassed by wearing their shirts.

What I witnessed today was a group of players that work so hard for each other, a complete turnaround. This team are totally committed to each other and would run through brick walls for their manager BBM. The turnaround has been nothing short of a miracle.

Even "sit on the fence me" is now convinced that we will be promoted as champions.

What a team. What a win. .
Osho was solid.
Colwill was everywhere.
Tanner has become so controlled in his game with 2 great passes made to look simple to set up the goals.
And Kellyman is just class.
I how I wish we could keep him.
Teams just cant cope with him.

We looked in absolutely no danger even after the sending off. An incredible display. Hats off to the whole team

I had a weird sense of calmness when Wintle got red.

Robertson and Joel C stepped right up. Joels engine is outstanding.

Then some quality performances throughout all the team and subs.

A very big away win!

Absolute brilliant day out only sad point was seeing issac sat on the pitch at the end looking devastated with what I assume was a hamstring injury

I was one of those that called most of last seasons squad "losers". What a difference with a real manager who the players obviously respect.

Just got home and said to my mates as soon as the red card was given “we’ve still enough to win this” and what a performance. Well worth the travelling time

Unreal result with 10 men. Everyone stuck a shift in :bluescarf:

Having watched the highlights available to me in the US, I have some opinions and some questions:

1. I think this is the best team performance in EFL L1 for CC this season. Down to 10 men, they showed the BBM system works well in such adversity. If you maintain possession, it's not so critical that you are outnumbered.
2. Kellyman is a very, very good player - if CC are promoted do we have an option to acquire this guy on a permanent transfer? (I know his fee paid by Chelsea was more of an accounting anomaly than a true value transfer).
3. I am concerned the squad is too small - injuries (Salech, RC, Lawlor and now Isaak Davies?) and suspensions (Wintle) are adding up. Does BBM think he can pull more from the academy? (for example Herbie James acquired from Spurs)
4. The referees in this L1 are brutally bad.
5. I don't understand not having a substitute GK on the bench - this has happened more than once, and if I recall Trott sustained an injury during a game this season!? .....and we just acquired Tyrer for this role!?

Greetings from New Jersey.

In the cold light of day (and after a nice kip after driving in horrific conditions all day) I think that’s the best performance I’ve seen from a City team.

From the moment we went down to the men we dominated the game. Absolutely fantastic to see us stick to our normal game and another tactical masterclass from BBM, what a man.

It’s a possibility Chelsea will let him stay another year if we get promoted. I don’t see him getting in their side at the moment and his progression will be helped enormously playing at the next level.

Many have criticised players like Willock, Isaac and Ashford at times, but in general, these guys have often come up with valuable goals, when needed, despite not always being selected in the starting eleven.
A fabulous season so far and in my eyes, each individual in this squad deserves credit.
