4 hours to go

Mon Feb 02, 2026 3:07 pm

No surprise. But it looks like we are done.
Are we happy . I think we have enough

Re: 4 hours to go

I'm a little dissapointed to be honest watching all our rivals strengthen considerably whilst we sit on our hands and hope we have enough and injuries and suspensions dont bite to hard in the next few months

If we do fail this season then I hope the fans realise this is all on the board and not bbm as he has worked miracles with what he has been given

Re: 4 hours to go

Mon Feb 02, 2026 3:21 pm

You would haver thought the club would want this promotion signed, sealed and delivered given the fact that we need to up this season.
Time will tell if we rue not strengthening in this transfer window

Re: 4 hours to go

Mon Feb 02, 2026 4:07 pm

I'm disappointed if that's us done.

Just felt we needed more than 1 outfield player to freshen this squad up and give us a boost.

Granted we might still pi$$ this league and finish 10 points clear of everyone (we are good enough when at full strength). But if injuries hit us hard so we slip out of the top 2, we'll look back at this window and think FFS.

Whether it's lack of investment from Tan, BBM being too picky, bad luck with players not being released from other teams, who knows...but I wanted to see more investment in this window for sure!!!

Now we have the cover for left back sorted, I thought we may look at a centre forward.
However, maybe Salech will return sooner rather than later and with Rubin Colwill on his way back shortly, we could be okay.

I was originally told we were looking to sign 3 or 4 players, including a goal keeper and a left back. Those two were bang on (as another poster can confirm) which leaves the only question being ‘were Herbie James and Isaac Davies (with a ‘c’) the other two BBM was looking at?:?

My personal view is that yes, all of these signings were ‘wanted’ by BBM, so we should be ‘happy’ he has largely got what he wanted

There’s no credit to the top required here, as these are ‘signings for the future’ and there is a net credit on the off-setting of wages: and if all goes well, should provide excellent value further money in the longer term!

Well done, BBM, and welcome to the CCS to the new arrivals! :bluebird: :ayatollah:

I think we’re needed a striker even a loan just till the end of the season, and for me would have been nice maybe to have plans in place for next season because if we go up does anyone believe this squad is good enough to stay up?for me we’re top of the league was the ideally opportunity to attract players with one eye on next season, because I think this squad will struggle next season and will need serious investment and is tan willing to do that

I honestly think BBM will already be planning for next season (even under the limited parameters afforded him by Tan) and he is perfectly qualified to work with the (mainly) youth that we are likely to with again :ayatollah:

Awful window, Tan has given BBM the bare minimum

You don't know that. It might be the case but it's just as likely BBMs targets didn't fancy it here. Tan can do one but the longer he stays out of it the better.

People need to realize that we're a L1/D3 team & we can't really expect top strikers or any position really to want to join us mid season.

Re: 4 hours to go

Mon Feb 02, 2026 7:47 pm

Good window we didn't lose anyone and got what we needed an extra striker would have been great but realistically we've got about 5 guys who can play there for one spot. Left back was the really important one and we got it

Let's get there first before worrying about who is & isn't good enough for the Championship. It's much better for the blood pressure.

I wouldn't count our chickens just yet, all our rivals strengthened considerably and will be chasing us down big time, even a slight drop in form and they will be all over us, massive few months coming up

Id be amazed if BBM went into the window only wanting a back up goalkeeper and a left back. I'd be even more amazed if he didn't think we need to strengthen upfront after Salech getting injured.

We've seen 2 strikers go on loan to lower clubs in the league who both wouldve strengthened our squad.

I just had a look at the players the top 5 have signed, we'd go nuts if we signed old slow Paul Mullin or unproven kids from Charlton or sheffield.....

What clubs have signing that impressed you all then ?

Not sure i see the difference between a Man U 19-year-old who has never played a league game and a Spurs one.

Re: 4 hours to go

Except for Elanga and Garnacho, who were fast-tracked, United's U23s forwards are now in the lower levels of football.

Huge jump from age-grade football and men's.

Of course it will but if we don't January won't be forgotten so it's either one or the other hopefully the first one. If more injuries kick in and we lose 3 or 4 games it's a totally different table that's what people's concerns are about in this window with very little coming in to play first team football :bluescarf:

Ageed, we just need to keep that gap between third and us wherever we may be, second will do me as I think the play offs will be a complete lottery as there is no stand out team tbh. It will all start again then come the summer with "The in the Know" saying their normal drivel. If we do go up and VT doesnt sell then I think that will be major what type of investment he sees us competing in the Championship or is it fingers crossed same group keep us up. Be an interesting summer either way :bluebird:
