I was at that game and sadly those were the crowds we used to get the. Len Ashurst was the manager I think

Yup, I was there too. Just seemed the norm at the time.
I remember seeing my mates who’d try to coax me to go on the beer and watch the 4-5 nations as it was then. I’d reply with things like ‘nah, I’m going to watch Cardiff v Halifax’. Loyal supporters eh.

I'd tapped out that season and started playing again. We would often be playing at 7 oaks and could see the haze of the lights, but rarely heard a sound.

Wow,looking at that there's only 1 team who got more then than they do today and that's Luton town

I think the reason crowds are so much better these days is it's more of a family occasion back then it's was mostly men and young lads and taking your life in your hands some weeks wasn't for everyone, me personally them days were some of the best
