Kpakio left back?

Sat Jan 31, 2026 5:31 pm

Is this the clearest indication yet that there will be no new players in this transfer window?

Trying to fit round pegs in square holes?

Playing players out of position rarely ends well.

He looks uncomfortable there. No idea if there are reinforcements on way

Can only do the job as a temp for 15/20mins not from the 1st whistle

To be honest I don't feel confident with Kpakio with his defensive play. Maybe it's me but I don't really see the fuss about him. He's got ability, but for me he's got a long way to go before I would say he's going to be a star.

Simply, no! BBM is trying desperately to get a couple in before the window closes!

The Liverpool left back is looking ‘promising’, and he is looking at other areas, too!

I think one or two will, but if any of these don’t come off, I honestly don’t believe it will be from a lack of effort from BBM (in particular) or the club itself, and I do believe BBM has a type/standard of player he wants in his squad and doesn’t want to ‘compromise’ just to please some supporters

We all hope someone(s) come in over the next two or three days, particularly the aforementioned left back, but if not, our squad is more than good enough for this league and we will march on!

He did well for us early season, but I think his longer term future is further up field! :ayatollah:

I think he is a wing back, but that's not BBM's system

Agree, he’s certainly not in his ‘best’ position and that is down to BBM’s ‘system:ayatollah:

We’ve had 30 days to get one in and in December he would have known if he was being backed and would have had one ready for January.

Abysmal

Today we looked very tired

Just got home, straight run :ayatollah:

The window shuts in just over 48 hours.

Is a LB enough? - it will be a massive failing on the club if we don’t sign a LB.

I’d like a bit more.

But we should have enough with what we have.

Was lucky to stay on the pitch to half time. Just clarifies that we need a LB in tomorrow/Monday

Wasn’t aware and no idea whether it is serious or not? :?

But if it does stop a loan deal, there would certainly be an irony in that BBM’s own statement that ‘nothing is guaranteed

Kpakio is not a great defender in my opinion.
Nevertheless, I think he will be a great player in the future, if managed correctly.
I think we should convert him into a right winger over time.

He needs to play in a more forward role. He is more effective than all our wingers. He gets in between fullback and centre half. Looks dangerous and direct.

The only problem with him playing further forward is our lack of RB cover.

Having our only RB's on the pitch the same time is a big risk, when it comes to injuries and fatigue.
