Throw ins

Mon Jan 26, 2026 12:02 am

What is it with us and throw ins these days?
I don’t understand why we don’t mix it up a little by going short or occasionally long.
We are so predictable and often lose possession by always playing short back to the thrower.
It just highlights our lack of any plan B at times. When Yousef came off we still lumped high balls up to Robinson. He was hardly going to get much change out of a 6’3 defender.
We play some beautiful stuff at times then are utterly clueless.

I'd rather be 1st playing attractive football than being in the relegation zone with some of best throw in's in the league..

It is something that needs improvement- we wait ages to take a throw in, most teams take it quickly before the opposition gets set.

This is nothing new mind, other than notable players like Gunnar and Morrison we’ve been ordinary for years.

With all the coaches modern clubs have now I’d have thought someone would pick up throws

Grumbling?? No I simply wanted your opinion.
I was asking a question in the hope of some decent opinions but nevermind eh.
The whole fecking place could be burning down and all you can come up with is “we’re top of the league”
Isn’t this what this forum is for, discussion?

I never said I wanted us to launch it each time. I queried why we do the same thing each time when we either struggle or lose possession. Strange how a few premiership teams are once again using it as a weapon.
Speaking of complete weapons, over to you…

I can't say I've noticed us being particularly poor at throw ins will definitely watch more closely tonight.

As far as long throws do we have anybody with a long throw? And is there any point we aren't exactly devastating in the air

Can’t ever remember us actually scoring many goals from long throws Maybe less than 6 over last 15 years. I would be pretty sure that we scored more goals after a short throwing followed up with a cross within the following 30 seconds

Or these days a throwing then 12 passes on the edge of one side of there box then back to the center half then back to Bagan the back to trott rather than crosses it in so 16 passes we have gone from there corner flag more or less or our goalkeeper.. it's even worse when I see this when teams are losing and 2 minutes to go. Totally baffles me. Although I get the original posts point. Some see it as moaning no matter what's said I see it as a plan b and rightly so. We only have a plan A under bbm unless it's late and we are losing he goes two up top. It's worked so far and nobody is disputing being top but there's other ways like the op says, although we are not bbm :bluescarf:

Agree with the original post they've been shocking for sometime. Lack of movement doesn't help, it's
a minor weak point in our side at the moment. We've been pulled for a few foul throws lately too. Have
a little look tonight. :old:

Yep always amazes me how a professional footballer can not take a legal throwing. It's been a good a 6 or 7 times this season I've seen us do it and other clubs . Sit there thinking wtf is this

By definition, you are stuggling with the concept of the forum. I replied and added to the chat; you didnt like the response, which is a different avenue of argument.

'Weapon' - i'll take that, thanks.

4-0 up tonight, how did we throw-in though??? :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6:
