I’m not trying to defend the Welsh Government, but you’ve left out key facts to suit your point. The 10 mph limit is for temporary roadworks, which could last for up to 18 months, not a permanent speed change. If you’re going to make a case, post the full picture rather than the bits that fit your narrative. Full details are in this article: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wale ... d-33265260 I don't know if the link works, but it can be found on the Wales online website

Add on to that, the 10mph limit and overtaking ban is only active during convoy working.

It's just feels like money for the coffers than a real safety deterrent when it's to this scale.

It’s interesting how this is often presented as a uniquely Welsh Government problem, when 20mph schemes have been introduced all over the UK, including England.
There must have been a sudden outbreak of perfection on the Wirral, because when they brought it in, there were plenty of complaints — 20mph limits painted on the road, 30mph signs still hanging off lamp posts, and confusion everywhere. The same in Sheffield when I was there, although that has improved in the last year.
So this idea that Wales is some sort of outlier is not really correct. We’re just going through the same problems that other parts of the UK are experiencing as well.

Wales is a Petri dish for the wider U.K.

If Wales is the ‘Petri dish’, then 20mph is clearly a UK-wide idea — we’re just the test case, not the inventor.
