Mansfield - Last game of the season

Sat Jan 17, 2026 5:57 pm

Just a thought, and we are miles away from it at present . But talking to some one at the match today, how will they cope with the thousands of City wanting to be there?
The points system will obviously be in place for tickets, but thousands more will want to attend. Would Mansfield give us more stands?
As I said a long way away, but it could be a crazy day out :bluescarf:

It'll be done and dusted by then. Players hungover after a 9 day bender and "already on the beach" and we'll get pumped 4-0 but it wont matter as we'll be on 101 points :laughing5:

Hopefully, yes, but it will the game we get the trophy, and the game all will want to be at. Party time :occasion5:

My guess is Reading away will be the party game. It's closer, 4000 away end and we could well be done and dusted by then

We will just take our allocation I reckon.

It will be a bit like 99, it was our last game of the season then as well, when we got promoted.

I remember that day some Cardiff fans went in the home stand and the police just cordoned them off but I can’t see it being like that this time as their ground has been modernised a bit.

I think the best we can hope for is a bigger allocation but I wouldn't hold my breath, especially if they have something to play for. I can’t seem any people will travel without tickets these days if there’s no chance if getting in, with a bit of bravado now they might say they will but if we are already promoted it will be a bit of a nothing game (long way to go yet though obviously)

The 3 all draw in York was my favourite. A Leo Fortune West hatrick what a brilliant day

We had to go there years ago last day already promoted, loads of City in home end, lost 3-0!

So do I. We had both ends of the ground behind each goal. I remember we pulled off about ten miles away and found a little village to have a pint. As we pulled in there must have been around 300 City fans who had the same idea. We were all drinking in the little square. The police eventually moved us all on much to the annoyance of the pub owner who was making a killing :D

Yep, I was there, night game, all felt a bit weird as we had confirmed promotion at the York game on the Saturday B4 (3-3 game). In the away end and quite a few empty seats.

But I believe that if we win the league they will present the trophy at the Mansfield game? So total party day for City fans :occasion5:

We're a long way from achieving anything, 20 games to go.

But if we did win the league before our last home game against Northampton, I think we'd get the trophy then.

Trophy presentations are normally done at the last home game for the champions if possible.

But I'm a bit nervous about talking of when we'll win the league, a lot of work to do!

Long way to go yet lads.
Although we are looking good, a lot can happen between now and the Mansfield game.
