" BBM speaks about potential goalkeeper signing "

Thu Jan 15, 2026 11:21 am

BBM was asked about the potential signing of Harry Tyrer.

Brian Barry-Murphy:

"Embargo!

On a serious note, when I first came in we ended up with four goalkeepers - Trott, Turner, Alnwick and Horvath.

Recently we've had only two goalkeepers. After the game against Exeter where Turner played and he was struggling after the game. So we had nobody, our younger goalkeepers aren't ready and those two will be going out on loan.

Our rules are different because we're based in Wales. If we do lose one of our goalkeepers to injury then we can't recruit an emergency goalkeeper outside the transfer windows.

So that's something we're actively trying to sort out. We need an extra goalkeeper."

Cardiff City are set to sanction two further exits this month, with goalkeepers Jake Dennis aged 20
and Ewen Griffiths aged 19 both heading out on loan.

Always thought that rule was for all clubs - but now this makes sense to hopefully the signing .
