BREAKING BRIAN BARRY-MURPHY : “15TH JANUARY 2026 “

:bluebird: :bluebird: “TODAY BRIAN BARRY-MURPHY UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS” :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City travel to Bradford City looking forward to 3pts and Revenge for the defeat at home.

Backed by over 2,000 Bluebirds and its “ PAY ON THE DAY “

BBM HOPING THE TRANSFER EMBARGO GETS LIFTED SOON:

Cardiff City are set to sanction two further exits this month, with goalkeepers Jake Dennis aged 20
and Ewen Griffiths aged 19 both heading out on loan.

Waiting on Fitness on Omari Kellyman.

Rubin Colwill expected back middle of March.

Eli King out for the Season.

BBM:

"Omari hasn't trained this week, so he's very doubtful for Saturday. Calum Chambers had an issue with his glutes the day before Leyton Orient and he still hasn't trained, so he's a genuine 50/50.

Striker Kion Etete has been sent back by Rotherham United as Bolton did last season.

BBM:

"All these different games and different stadiums have different challenges, and the exciting part is seeing how we cope with that, try and overcome it and obviously win."

“Ronan Kpakio had an issue with his knee on Monday in training, so he is also doubtful for Saturday. All of those players will definitely be fit for the following week if they don't make this weekend.“

"It's probably the first time that we've had a full week to train properly, because of all the games around Christmas, so I'm really pleased to get everyone back together and to have a great week in preparation for a great game.'

BBM:

"The players made a huge sacrifice over the Christmas period. December is an unusual month; you get those four games in ten days, and all the players played so well. I'm very grateful for what they've done.

"If you look at the first 45 minutes of last Saturday's game against Leyton Orient, that felt as stern an examination of where we're at as any previous game. All these different games and different stadiums have different challenges, and the exciting part of it is seeing how we cope with that, try and overcome it and obviously win."

Bradford City are our opponents this weekend, with Brian keen to keep full focus on Saturday's clash rather than looking too far ahead to future fixtures.

"It's so difficult to pre-empt what's going to happen during any given game. If you start thinking about what's going to happen next week, so many things can happen between now and then.

"The reason there has to be so much focus on Saturday's game is, we came into a home game against Bradford where we were doing really well, the stadium was full, everyone was coming expecting to see a great win, and they blew us away. We weren't able to compete with them in that game, on that occasion.

"Now we have to go and show that we're better than we were back then, which we believe we are. We still have to go and try and show it by preparing well today and tomorrow, and seeing where we're at. That constant evaluation of how much we're improving, and how good we think we are, has to be tested every week, and that's the way to do it."

BBM:

"We never want to lose any players, but once they go away and start their rehabilitation, other players step up to the plate. Eli King is obviously not going to make it back this season, but Rubin Colwill is making great steps, so to have him and Ollie back for a critical stage of the season will be brilliant. Hopefully we can keep our squad healthy and try and avoid any of those medium-to-long term injuries."

Re: BREAKING BRIAN BARRY-MURPHY : “15TH JANUARY 2026 “

Brian Barry-Murphy:

"As I've already said, we want another goalkeeper to work alongside Trott and Turner.

We're also really conscious that Joel Bagan has been our only left back for a prolonged period of time so that's an area of the team that we really want to strengthen.

We're really specific about the players we want to bring in to the club. Players that add real value to the club now but also going forward.

So I'm hopeful that Nathan Trott will stay beyond this season. Gabriel Osho will stay beyond this season and hopefully Omari Kellyman.

We will improve players that we sign, whether they're loans or permanent. And then they'll stay longer than would normally be associated with loan players."

We weren't good enough in the home game and have to show that we've improved."

Thought bbm said rubin was already running on the treadmill and would be back in training by end of January ready for a return by mid Feb, haven't heard him say anything else since then

He hasn't but monty was probably reading what Anis wrote at the top which itself is probably a copy & paste from a few weeks ago. Either that or he's managing expectations. :)

After last season being Sent by Bolton and then unbelievable The Hierarchy gave Etete a New Contract:

We can confirm that Kion Etete has returned to Cardiff City following his loan spell at Rotherham United.

The 24-year-old played 14 times while with the Millers, during the first half of the 2025/26 season.

His current City record stands at nine goals in 63 appearances in all competitions.

Rubin was back running on the grass this week.

So it could be some time in February but March was the original target.

But don't forget Tanner was initially out for four months and he came back after three and a half so I suppose it could be February. Medical team do very well.

It'll be great when Rubin is back, expect him to score and assist every game going by some people's comments about how great he is.
