Sporting Director

For years, many people (including me) have been calling for the club to bring in a Sporting Director/Director of Football or whatever you want to call it.

But are they as great to have as has been suggested by us?

Recently we've seen big clubs like Chelsea and Man Utd have big problems partly caused by people in those jobs. I've seen fans of clubs lower down the pyramid say the issues they have are also in a way down to people in those jobs.

I remain sure that we need someone with football expertise at board level, because there's nobody there. I know Gavin Chesterfield is trusted by the board and the manager but he's not at board level.

But recently I've been less convinced about that person being in the job of Sporting Director or DoF. There would be other ways they can be at the club at board level and not see us have the issues that other clubs do at the moment.

You see it at plenty of companies, the less you hear from board members the better!

As long as they employ good people (often questionable in CCFC's case), I couldn't give a rat's arse about what the board have to say.
