Xabi Alonso has left his role as Head Coach of Real Madrid, with Alvaro Arbeloa replacing him.
Real Madrid have said it was a mutual decision for the Spaniard to leave after Sunday's defeat to Barcelona in the Super Cup.
He was only appointed in the summer as a replacement to Carlo Ancelotti.
He has faced criticism since taking over, particularly regarding his reported negative relationship with star player Vinicius Junior.
Real Madrid are 2nd in La Liga, four points behind leaders Barcelona.

Seriously, Xabi Alonso has left Real Madrid by mutual consent and he has been replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa.
Arbeloa has been the manager of Castilla, the club's reserve team, since June 2025 and spent his entire coaching career in Madrid's academy.

Alonso had the best Win % compared to their last 3 or 4 managers
